Go to meet the Guinness records Buddha statue!!

Do you know the tallest Buddha in Ushiku City which is certified
by the Guinness World Records?

Its absurd size can only be appreciated when you see it right in front of your eyes.

The size is about twenty times compared to "Great Buddha of Nara".

Although the statue is a little over 20 years old, the story behind the construction of this image is interesting.

There is also animal park where can enjoy rabbit feeding and monkey tricks.

As an another interesting experience, let you try Japanese traditional local food "Monja-yaki".

It is also famous as a relatively easy mountain to climb because it is only 877-meter high.

Tsukuba Shrine located on the mountainside is one of the most famous shrines in Japan.

More than 200,000 worshipers go there every year.

Hi, I'm Yuji.
I live in Tukuba-city, Ibaraki Pref..
This town is located to the north of Tokyo about one hour by car or train.

Even if you live in Tokyo, You may not know this town.
But you have a lot of place to visit here.

1.Mt.Tsukuba with Tsukuba-Shrine has an excelent view.
2.The world's tallest Buddha statue of Ushiku-Daibutsu (Guiness record).
3.Ryujin-ohtsurihashi bungee jump. This is highest in Japan (100m).

and others, Hitachi Seaside Park, Oharai port, Kashima-jingu shrine, etc.

From a long time ago, Ibaraki Prefecture was prosperous by agriculture and animal husbandry.
Even now, there are a number of brand and delicious foods!!

Hitachi beef and Aki-soba are famous food in Japan.

The Hitachi beef is Japanese black cattle fed only by approved cattle-farmers. The quality and the taste are so high that it is one of the most popular Japanese beef.

The soba noodles are made from the buckwheat which has been specially produced in Kanasago area (close to Bungy site) in northern part of Ibaraki from early times.
In 1987 the plant breeding was registered as ‘Hitachi-aki- soba’
and now it’s known as being splendid in taste and flavor.

We can visit to Fukuroda falls which is one of japanese three famous falls. It is near the bungy jump place about 20 minutes by car.

The falls show the variety face in each season.

-Frozen falls (from December to January)

You can see the frozen falls under the severe weather in winter. In winter, an event, “Traveling the winter falls of Fukuroda, Okukuji” , is held.

In this event, you can see the fantastic winter view by illuminating the falls and the suspension bridge.
