I know it is the evening, but it is never too late for Travel Trip Tuesday!

Headed to a city with a long list of things you must see and do? Check and see if that city has attraction passes. These passes are a one time fee and they are super easy to use.

You just purchase the pass, download it to your phone and show your pass at each attraction, and you’re in! There are no additional entry fees for each attraction.

Here is a real life breakdown from my recent trip to Barcelona, Spain. We booked our passes through GoCity and paid €159.00
per person for a 2 day pass. Within those 2 days we visited the following main attractions, plus a few more! (Individual entry prices below)

Casa Batllo - €35
Sagrada Familia Tour - €65
La Pedrera - €28
Barcelona Tour Bus - €33
FC Barcelona Tour - €28

It’s Foodie Friday! There are some really really great restaurants to stop and along the route and get some delicious food.

Lou Mitchell’s
The best way to start the trip is eating breakfast at Lou Mitchell’s Diner. This diner was built in the 1920’s and is known for it’s pancake and donut holes breakfast. It has also been featured in a few episodes of the TV show Chicago PD. I have eaten here and can say, it IS delicious!

Donut Man
Started in 1972 in Glendora, CA, the Donut Man is a must stop on your road trip! The owner makes his donuts from fresh ingredients and with over 4000 Yelp reviews, I think these are worth the stop!

Pops
Located in Arcadia, Oklahoma you will pass a giant neon soda bottle and may want to stop at Pops 66 Soda Ranch! This restaurant has everything from breakfast to burgers, to sandwiches, and desserts. They also have over 700 types of sodas!! If you have been here, I would love to see your photos under the 66 foot tall soda bottle!

Mr D'z Route 66 Diner
One of the go to food spots once you are in Arizona is Mr D’z Route 66 Diner. This is an old fashioned diner with traditional diner fare. They are best known for their homemade root beer and pizza! This diner has quite a bit of Route 66 memorabilia so there is a lot to see!

With Route 66 being many many miles, there are so many places to see and stop at along the journey. Let’s start our journey in Chicago, IL and check out some of the sites we can see

Wigwam Motel
This looks so fun! This is a fantastic opportunity to stay in a Tipi shaped motel room! This hotel chain was founded in the 1930’s and is an integral part of Route 66 history and an unforgettable one of a kind experience!

Gateway Arch
One of the main attractions along the route is the Sr Louis Gateway Arch in Missouri! The Arch is the gateway to the West and is the symbol from then St. Louis was one of the last
cities before travelers headed west. If you have been to the arch, I would love to see your pictures!

Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum
The Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum is a must stop in Pontiac, Illinois to learn all about the history of the route. They have Route 66 memorabilia, travel resources, the largest Route 66 mural and more!

Travel Tips Tuesday, Road Trip edition!

1. Have a special treat that you only get on road trips, like lollipops! When I think of road trips, I think of gas station treats. The only time I allow myself to run in and grab a snack at a gas station is when we are on long car trips. It makes it so exciting and like a special treat.

2. Expect the trip to take longer than your maps say. It ALWAYS happens. Whether you stop and get food to eat, or get gas, you will always add time.

3. Create a fun road trip music playlist, or find one online! There are a few road trip playlists that I found on Spotify that are great!

4. Make sure to bring some plastic bags. These are great to clean up trash and also good to have in case of an emergency if someone is car sick.

Since it is Sunday, it is Bucketlist day!

This trip has been on my bucket list for a very long time.... and that is to drive Route 66 in the USA. This route from Chicago, IL to Santa Monica, CA spans 2451 miles and crosses through 8 states! The fun would be in the road trip and stepping through American History.
