Bude Coastguard team, assisted by teams from Boscastle and Port Isaac, were this afternoon involved in the tricky rescue of a four-year-old black Labrador, called Dexter, from the cliffs above Strangles beach. The dog was stuck on a steep, loose scree, thirty feet up from the bottom of the cliffs. Teams needed to carry the heavy cliff-rescue gear half a mile down to the bottom of the highest cliffs in Cornwall in order to effect the successful rescue. Dexter was clearly shaken by his ordeal but delighted to be reunited with his owner.

Port Gaverne would doubtless be doubtless be much better known if it weren't located right next door to Port Isaac! It's a wonderful little spot :-)
