Did you know that Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday?
This is carnival celebration that culminates on the day before Ash Wednesday which is called Shrove Tuesday reflecting the practice of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before the ritual Lenten sacrifices and fasting of the Lenten season.
This year’s Mardi Gras in Nola was celebrated a little different due to the pandemic but the tradition went on......locals decorated their own homes like floats!!! 🎊🎉
