I discovered yoga in the mid-1990′s as a way to strengthen and de-stress the body in a safe, low-impact way. However, the practice of yoga is an evolving one and my own experience has led me to a profound sense of inner peace and understanding. For me, yoga has become a means to “connect the dots” authentically on a physical, mental, and energetic level– not only internally, but with whatever expe

rience life brings. My goal is to help students, if they are willing, achieve those same benefits. My own practice today is a slow, intentionally mindful, often intense, alignment-based Vinyasa flow. I also enjoy a meditative, still practice like Yin or Restorative. I completed my 500 hour training in 2011 with Santa Cruz, California-based Rolf Gates, author of Meditations From The Mat. In addition to teaching private lessons in the Richmond area, I'm honored to have co-founded and serve as current Board Chair for Project Yoga Richmond, a locally based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to expanding the practice of yoga across the community. Finally, I'm honored to serve as a Leadership Trainer for Y12SR- The Yoga of 12 Step Recovery, a program created to bring together practices of yoga, principles of recovery, and research on neuroscience and meditation to support sustainable, holistic addiction recovery. I'd be so grateful if you joined me in supporting Project Yoga Richmond's Amazing Raise, 6 am Wednesday Sept 17- 6 pm Thursday, Sept 18. We're aiming for a goal of $25,000 to support all of our outreach work for 2015.
