Meet the curators of The Architecture Experience, architects Rachita and Ankit, who will also be accompanying the participants on the summer courses.

is a senior architect at a private firm which specialises in high-rise buildings and high-density residential communities. She has a background in environmental policy management, sustainable design, and energy-efficient planning. Rachita has worked mainly in the residential, hospitality and educational sectors. She is passionate about climatology-based design, the environmental impact of built spaces and sustainable site planning. These principles have driven her work for the last decade.
ankitberry is the Principal Architect at ‘Architecture + Design Lab’ . Ankit has experimented with contemporary design vocabulary to explore new ways to create green architecture for the 21st century, whilst maintaining the essence of Asian architectural expression at Vo Trong Nghia Architects in Vietnam. He has worked on the master plan's environmental strategy of Amaravati, with Fosters + Partner. Ankit is a frequent speaker at institutions and forums, and a visiting faculty at DY Patil School of Architecture, Pune, and at the Department of Architecture & Planning, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.

The Architecture Experience is a 10 to 15-day course curated and led by practising architects, where you get to visit sites and studios and get a deeper understanding of sustainable architecture concepts. The upcoming summer courses are offered in Vietnam (13 days), Japan (15 days), and Hong Kong (10 days).

Organised by The Happy Llamas, choose your course based on the topic of your interest -
Vietnam - Vernacular sustainability
Japan - Integration of Traditional Methodology in Contemporary Architecture
Hong Kong - Liveability, Sustainability, and Inclusivity in Hyper-Dense Environments

What happens in The Architecture Experience?
Guided by a practising architect on all days of the course, participants will get to visit architecture sites in these countries, observe the application of concepts, be a part of closed-room sessions with architecture studios, and work on a capstone project where they get to implement their learnings.

What is included in the course?
The course fee includes all the logistics - flights and visas, shared accommodation, local and airport transfers, breakfast and dinner, and entry fees where applicable.

Who is this for?
The courses will benefit students and professionals of architecture, urban planning, design, and other related fields.

Grants:
Each participant can also avail of a grant which allows them to reduce the course fee and can also be used towards realisation of the capstone project.
