This truck has been the adventure wagon for 20 years now with just under 1/4 million miles on it. It’s been back and forth across the country 3 times and will be home for the next 2 months as it loops the Western US so we can climb in the Sierra Nevada and running in the San Juan Mountains. I love this truck. I figure it’s about halfway through it’s life. By the time it dies computers will be driving our cars for us.

Rarely in the annuls of Knucklehead Adventure history has the team been this organized this far in advance. With the exception of a few that took exceptional planning like the Greenland sail or the Baja paddle, often the planning and packing is done in the days and hours before or even once on the road. 72 hours to go before we take the train east to the edge of the Great Plains and then walk back 1200 miles along the Canadian border to the westernmost point of the Olympic Coastline in September sometime. Exactly the break from veterinary medicine I need and the end of COVID stuck at home times for both of us.
