📅 November Membership Meeting and CLE: Leadership for Lawyers

Join us on November 20, 2024, from 12-1 p.m. for a transformative CLE: "Leadership for Lawyers: Building Critical Skills for Effective Leadership," presented by Mindy Gulati. As attorneys, we’re adept at representing our clients, but leadership within our firms or organizations presents unique challenges. Many of us have little foundational training in leadership, despite its importance in our legal careers.

Mindy, a skilled attorney and strategic advisor, will share valuable insights on leadership fundamentals like courage, curiosity, collaboration, and communication. You’ll gain practical tools to enhance your skills, including how to give and receive feedback effectively.

Our first TCWLA Power Reads Book Club selection of the year dives into the heart-wrenching true story of Jennifer and Sarah Hart, who tragically drove their family off a cliff — claiming the lives of their adopted children, Ciera, Abigail, Jeremiah, Devonte, Hannah, and Markis, all between the ages of 12 and 19.

Award-winning journalist Roxanna Asgarian exposes the dark truth behind this tragedy in her powerful book, revealing how a broken child welfare system contributed to these devastating events. This intense and emotionally charged story will no doubt evoke deep discussion about the intersection of family law, foster care, and child protection.

We are honored to have Judge Maya Guerra Gamble leading the conversation, with special guest Roxanna Asgarian herself joining us for this vital discussion.
