I've not been THAT buried in electioneering or Pre Jitters, to get some of these done...

This one has the best of Intel's 9th Generation, the i7-9850H. As I've said in this space before, that "H" is very important, it means that this computer will allow a 3rd or 4th Gen NVMe SSD to run using all four "lanes" of PCIe available to it, as opposed to the "U" variety which are limited to three... A huge hit to performance...

In my experience these are comparable to the AMD 5500u, I've run both extensively and they average around 13,500 on a Passmark CPU Test. About twice what any 10th Gen "U" will do, and better than 10th GEN "H" processors as well. 10th Gen sucked, across the board, they are very inexpensive right now, and in some cases are worth it, the last laptops with onboard DVD-RW's all 10th Gens...

So check it out, a good deal, last long, run good...

Can you maybe see why other leaders just don't take Trump, or Trump's America, very seriously? I mean look who's at the table here... Only ONE person here has ANY foreign policy chops, John Bolton... The man at the far left, is our former Commerce Secretary, a well known grifter and bank fraudster... At the other end the "President's" daughter, who BTW had ongoing personal business worth millions with the people across the table...

But she's Snow White, right? She's next to a guy who addressed the RNC the same day he left Federal Prison... Bolton, and to lesser degree Pompeo, are serious foreign policy wonks, they belong there. Mulvaney? Ivana?

And the Chinese couldn't be happier, what bunch of maroons...

I think it is odd that two very wrong notions keep coming out of Trump's mouth...

Not lies really but if Trump doesn't understand the nature of certain things, like NATO or tariffs, it should concern everyone..
He keeps saying that China is paying us billions of dollars... China is not paying one cent of any tariff... You are.

Every time you buy a computer or a TV... If you ordered an electric car delivered at the dock in SF, you'd understand this very well, since after you pay the Chinese for the car, and they leave in a boat, you still owe Uncle Sam the exact same amount, 100% tariff...

You pay.

And this NATO thing...

Like there was this Bank of NATO that all the nations are supposed to deposit 2% of GDP in every year... NOT!

Ever since Munich, and I mean the one with Hi**er and Chamberlain, we have understood what the result of appeasement is. Europe HAS stepped up, Poland is ready, the Baltic States and Finland as well. Even France and Germany understand how short the distance is from Kyiv to Berlin or Paris...

But this about Dustin and Abbi...
Ever had a flamin' run punch? Me neither, but a freakish accident involving a bar in Dallas and a couple drinks to celebrate Dustin's return from Oregon and the wedding went really badly and both Dustin and Abbi were badly burned. 3rd degree and all that...

And they need some help, sure the lawyers are gatherin', yeah there's probably something like disability insurance in Texas (meager I'm sure...), so limber up the wallets and please give what you can, let's show 'em some love!

What I've seen from most American Media is a softening of the several dramatic Supreme Court actions, that have completely altered the form of the American Government.

My only solace is to recall that the Supreme Court once ruled that "Separate is Equal"...

But my fear is that it's more like Dred Scott, which was only reversed by a Civil War...

Overseas they see this as a prelude to The Fall. the end of the American Century, as the shining light on the hill goes dim...

Been doin' a little work...
As some may know, a cat wondered into my yard, a few months back... Skinny and hungry, she came back each day and I fed her... And she recovered real fast and then didn't stop expanding until she looked like a semi truck and had six kittens! Yeah, in our closet!

So I've been herding kittens for several weeks of this fine Spring... Of course due to allergies, they were raised in my office! Oh joy! A cat box... I am NOT a cat person, dogs I've had, but we're allergic to kitty's... I'm not but...

So now, as I emerge from my hiatus, herding cats, a computer, a monster!!!

I was testing a computer, one that was returned as defective! Defective!
Said the cam didn't work...

Actually it didn't... The actual camera is behind a "bezel", that plastic trim you see around the screen... I replaced this one because it was cracked. Brand new, with the tape still firmly affixed on the reverse side, protecting the camera lens on the bezel, and completely obscuring the view.

Duh!

So I tested it... Works fine, now...

There's been a lot of tributes and memories today for Willie Mays... Most likely the best all around ballplayer ever, I remember him for a very human thing, not at all unusual on the day it happened, but actually rare anytime.

Just after we had been able to finally evacuate Candlestick Park on October 17th, 1989 in the aftermath of the Loma Prieta Quake, as we emerged onto the actual ground for the first time, we were presented with a crowd of people intent upon immediately leaving, one verging on panic in fact...

Not knowing how many aftershocks could be in store, or indeed it that one WAS the big one or did it still lurk in the coming minutes... And one cutoff from the outer world, each with someone they absolutely needed to call! No cell phones, I had one... Dead. The pay phone wasn't working, only KCBS and later a portable TV we saw working had any information, and most of what we saw and heard was dismal at best...

We had a hike ahead, having been shunted to the outer dirt parking lots, and it was a maze of crosswalks, again with an anxious and fear driven crowd...

As we crossed a wide street and entered the dirt lots there standing in the middle, with his big hands going up and down calmly, repeating over and over, "It's gonna be fine folks, we're all gonna get home tonight, just please take your time and watch out for each other...". over and over, those big hands pushing down the fear, was Willie Mays.

That was a play I never forgot.

Wow... First time I've played with an Intel i711th Gen 11850H... The "H" is quite significant....

Intel Processors (and for that matter, AMD...) have a "code" in the naming that tells you quite a bit. those with "U", like say the 6350U, on the end are "throttled" they perform at half the speed, and heat and needed battery power, as they are truly capable. And they only support 2 "lanes" for the PCIe NVMe, rather than the potential 4 lanes...

BUT... Those marked "H" are different, they are full throttle, support four lanes and perform roughly 50-60% better than their generational compatriots...

In the 8th Gen, the i7-8950H clocks almost 60% faster than the average 8th Gen i7 and double some of the 8th Gen i5's... Almost all 9th Gen Intel chips are "H" variants and very quick. As is true for the rest of the 10th Gen, the 10th Gen H variants have only a marginal increase over even the 8th...

The 11th was Intel's response to AMD's Ryzen's which knocked their socks off vs. 10th Gen... Across the board they are MUCH better but they really shine at the top, meeting AMD's 3700X (which I'm running...) and clocking at 20,000 plus on Passmark.

This one, an i7-11850H, is at 21,366... And check one that DISK! A 1TB Samsung 9a1, 4x4.0 NVMe SSD, full throttled 45,153...

Waitin' on a screen... Dell Latitude 5521, "B+" cosmetic, scratched, 32GBs RAM... $360?

Been playin' with some Lenovo's!

These are pretty nice, in the ThinkBook line, 14", equipped with the best NVMe 3rd Gen Solid State drives, running 10th Generation Intel i-5's and utilizing 16GB of RAM, they perform very well!

They have both wireless and Ethernet connections and two USB ports also. Solid quality and in excellent used condition, they are kinda special! Here's one... Got more!
