The next weekends if you happen to visit Campania, don't miss A Chiena di Campagna, a vibrant and much-anticipated water festival. The festival is scheduled to take place from June 29 to August 25.
Every Sunday afternoon at 15:30, the streets come alive with a playful challenge where participants throw buckets of water at each other.
On Sunday mornings at 12:00 and Saturday afternoons at 15:00, people enjoy walks along the main course of the city. On certain Saturdays (June 29, July 20, 27, August 3, 10, and 18), the event is free to enter, featuring only the walk and not the bucket-throwing.
The Guerra dei Colori is a playful battle without weapons, where the most lethal 'arms' are simply wet and colored sponges. These sponges, soaked in non-toxic colors, are used to playfully 'attack' anyone within range. The event aims to be a fun moment that uses colors, a symbol of peace, to exorcise the word "war" and reflect on its futility.
At midnight sharp on August 2 and 16, for the Chiena di Mezzanotte, the city is flooded, and amidst the unusual nocturnal backdrop, spontaneous musical, theatrical, and dance performances take place.
The festival is a celebration of energy, music, fun, and tradition, offering an immersive experience into the culture and traditions. It's a zero-waste water event that highlights the town's close relationship with water, evident in its historic fountains, ancient wells, and washhouses.

For those interested in attending, tickets and additional details are available through the event's official app. It's an event that promises to be the coolest highlight of the summer! https://lamiacampania.it/a-chiena-campagna/

🇬🇧 The Teatrino di Vetriano, located in Vetriano, a hamlet of Pescaglia, in the province of Lucca, is one of the smallest historic theaters in the world. Built in 1890, this jewel occupies just 71 square meters and offers 60 seats in the stalls and 20 on two tiers of balconies. Its history has its roots in 1889, when the engineer Virgilio Biagini donated a barn to the local community to be transformed into a theater. The inhabitants, mostly farmers, enthusiastically welcomed the donation and formed a "Country Society" to build the theater.
Curiously, spectators had to bring their own chairs to enjoy the shows. Over the years, the Teatrino became a point of reference for the whole area. In 1997, the heirs of Engineer Biagini turned to the FAI (Italian Environment Fund), donating their share of the theater so that it could be preserved. After a careful restoration, the Teatrino di Vetriano has come back to life, hosting brilliant comedies, operas and events for an audience that cannot exceed 85 people. Today it is possible to admire it as it was at the end of the nineteenth century, with a stage framed by neoclassical decorations and a beautiful painted curtain. This little gem has been credited by the Guinness World Records Book as the smallest theater in the world.
