The ABC 3.0 green home is now being built in Fullerton, Ca. If you're in the area, watch for open house dates probably by Fall 2016. The principles of Net Zero homes are what many local governments have been slowly adopting for years now.

Implementing new technology and advancing construction principles comes with many growing pains and new requirements have driven up improvement costs. Their goal of requiring all new construction to be "Net Zero" by 2020 will not be cheap. In order for building conservation to be successful, it must be affordable for all. Not just for the people who can afford it.

With the deadline less than four years away to start building homes that produce all their own power, California’s housing industry faces tough options and daunting technical obstacles.

I would put this story at one of the top five worst things that could happen to a construction project. Tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages and the possibility of having to tear down your newly built home. Most of these homeowners already spent their savings on the initial improvements. Here's a few more hardships: Home can't be sold until city approves of corrected work - Legal costs - Criminals obviously won't be paying anyone back - New design, engineering, and construction costs - Temporary living arrangements, storage rentals for possessions... Although this case is unlikely to happen to you, please use qualified, licensed, & insured professionals. These guys would have been caught sooner if they weren't being paid in cash or a check addressed to them in person. We work face to face with architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Their is no way these two losers would have been able to get away with that on our projects.
