Wow, I can’t believe we’ve made it to 1,000 subscribers! This journey has been nothing short of incredible, and I’m beyond grateful for each and every one of you who has joined me along the way.

What started as a way to share Newfoundland and Labrador with the world has grown into something so much more. Exploring Australia with all of you has been an amazing adventure, from learning about your culture and sports to trying your favorite snacks and discovering so much about your beautiful country. Your warmth and support have made every step of this journey special.

Thank you to everyone who’s watched, liked, commented, and shared my videos. Your engagement means the world to me, and it’s what keeps me motivated to keep creating and exploring.

Here’s to the next chapter! We’ve got so much more to discover together, and I’m excited for what’s in store. Let’s keep this adventure alive!

Hello, fellow Newfoundlanders and Labradorians!

I'm Kevin from the Discovering NL with Kevin YouTube channel, and I'm working on an exciting new video project. I want to showcase the beautiful diversity of our dialects across Newfoundland and Labrador. To do this, I need YOUR help!

I'm looking for volunteers from all corners of our province to join a conference call where we’ll chat about our hometowns, unique local phrases, and experiences communicating with folks from both within Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond. Whether you’ve got a thick bay accent, the lilts of St. John’s, the Irish inflections of the Southern Shore, or the unique dialects from Bonavista, Central, or the Northern Peninsula, I want to hear from you!

This is a fun opportunity to share your story and be part of something that highlights the rich tapestry of our regional dialects. If you're interested, please comment below or send me a message. Let’s show the world the charm and character of Newfoundland and Labrador speech!

Most in this country will be celebrating Canada Day today, but in Newfoundland and Labrador, this day also holds added significance as Memorial Day.

Memorial Day has been observed since 1917, long before Newfoundland became a part of Canada in 1949. On this day, we honor the sacrifices of the Newfoundland Regiment during the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel in World War I. This historic battle marked a pivotal moment for the province and the nation, with Newfoundlanders and Labradorians displaying tremendous bravery and resilience amid unimaginable loss. Memorial Day serves as a solemn occasion to remember and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

So, to my fellow Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, we will remember to least we forget. To the rest of the country, Happy Canada Day!
