Tigers are curious, and that’s why they come so close. It’s not uncommon for one to spot you from a hundred yards or more and slowly swim on a line straight to you. However, they are not aggressive. Once they get to you and satisfy their curiosity, they turn.

Tiger Beach, Bahamas, is the best place in the world to dive with sharks. Our first trip to scuba dive with the sharks at Tiger Beach for Argos Adventures was nothing short of sensational. We had some significant encounters with the sharks we were aiming to see, and we made some great friends along the way. We saw too many Caribbean Reef and Lemon Sharks to count. We saw one Great Hammerhead Shark in the distance. There were a few Nurse Sharks here and there. And we had some AMAZING encounters with Tiger Sharks. We’re definitely excited and encouraged about the future of this expedition for the budget-conscious adventurer we aim to serve.

Fear of sharks leads to an irrational urge to eradicate them from the planet. The only thing scary about sharks, however, is a planet without them. We’re thankful for pioneers like Jim Abernethy for their advocacy and education. The tenderness between Abernethy and this Tiger Shark on display in this picture is what our world needs to see to change fear into love.
