Did you know this? Ribbed drains under your sinks is not a good permanent drain pipes. They leak easily and can clog easy. They can be a very temporary fix, but should not be relied on. Using approved drain pipe material is crucial and help you to not have future damage.

Do you see what is wrong here involving the railing? There are openings that are larger than 4 inches in any direction. The reasoning for the opening to be less than 4 inches under the current rules are for the protection of children. In the past, children have fallen through larger opening and through some opening the have gotten their head stuck and even choked. This is a simple thing for you to check yourself with a tape measure. Should you have any questions, reach out to us.

Do you have an electric panel with this logo or breakers (Federal Pacificathat look like this? If so, you probably have a panel that has been recalled for failures. This panel is also older and may not keep up with today’s demands. If you have this panel, considering replacing it.

Two things here in the picture. One corrosion on gas pipe can be an issue for gas related issues/leaks. Two there is a gas wrench laying accross the flat surface of the gas main valve system. Gas main valve wrench’s are affordable and in the event of an emergency a very valuable tool. Having a gas valve wrench located at the gas main shut off valve can save lives and possible damage to the surrounding areas.

With all the craziness of life, I was able to get a day to relax and my granddaughter made home made cupcakes for me. Things how you know it’s all worth it! Grandkids make life so worth it!! The cupcake was delicious also!!! !!

Did you know that the safety reverse laser device for your garage door opener should be off the garage floor between 6-8 inches? This helps to detect small children and reversing the garage door. Also having the garage door opener physical resistance checked is also important. When is the last time you had your garage door opener checked for safety?

When you have any gas appliance (for example a tankless water heater) there needs to be a 48 inches clearance from any opening (doors/windows) and the exhaust flue that can allow for the exhaust fumes (such as carbon monoxide) back into the home.

Can You See It Or Not See It?

So many homes do not have a “gas valve wrench” located at the gas main. In the first picture, no gas wrench has been installed. The second picture is of different types of “gas main valve wrench’s” The gas wrenches are great to have in case of an emergency where the gas needs to be shut off. They are affordable, although the prices do tend to fluctuate. Based on what we saw online today you can get one for about $5.00 or so and up. Installing a “gas main valve wrench” which is not an adjustable wrench is recommended. His is something most anyone can check for them selves and install. Having it installed near the gas main for quick access for an emergency is a great idea. So do you have one installed at your home?
