“Horseshoe Falls” is a striking and vivid selection inspired by the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. An intense theme is introduced in the powerful introduction which later gives way to a faster, menacing rhythmic accompaniment for an exciting melody. A three part canon evolves and is interrupted twice by cascading notes demonstrating the huge amount of water that makes its way over the waterfalls each day. A legato, flowing, mysterious section follows which ponders the mysteries that lie within the falls. The piece ends with a stately and majestic coda describing the falls perfectly, wrapping them up in a ribbon, and challenging you to accept the gift of going to see the falls for yourself! Don’t miss playing this piece certain to bring “Horseshoe Falls” to life on your concert stage!
