DID YOU KNOW?
That the fountain in Toontown is interactive with each song? The music is on a 30 minute loop and most music is instrumental. When the fountain plays the song Happy Place it is worth stopping and watching. The fountain really puts on a show. At night ( this is on my list to see ) the fountain glows and the music calms a bit for all the children who may not be able to stay up for the fire works. Remember that Toontown is closed between 8pm and 10pm due to the fireworks. How do you feel about Toontown? My son Collin loved it when it was first opened. Goofy’s house was a real bounce house that the kiddos had to take off their shoes and their was a ball pit made out of plastic acorns. Toontown has a special place in my heart and I like what they have done. I just hope is calms down a bit.
Today I am going to use this as my morning walk. I will walk in from Mickey and Minnie Parking structure to the fountain back to Main Street to have a few Silhouettes cute of my grands today. TIP OF THE DAY. You can bring a profile picture of them if the aren’t with you 🥰

Universal Studios

A Review

I only come to this park because of the drive to immerse in the Harry Potter experience.

However, there have been several hiccup recently to address:

* tickets booked through a travel agency normally mean an extra hour early in the parks alongside the guests of the resorts here on packages.
😡 Unfortunately ALL tickets booked this way over the last 3 weeks have had massive entry problems.

It results in a 2 hour delay as you bounce from one employee to another and finally end up at customer service.

To make matters worse, when the party asked for time compensation in the form of a front-of-line passfor the rides, they THOUGHT the employee added them like she said.

However, running the tickets at park entry yielded yet another problems that customer service screwed up on, equaling more time delays.

THEN the express passes were not added as promised at customer service. 😡😭

Seriously Universal is failing the very customers that they are paying agents to service before they even get here.

Would I still recommend an agent? Yes. They can add another layer of phone calls in your behalf but it might not help, even then.

Once inside the park, and the tickets work, it’s an experience that is as good as you want it to be.

Also, if you don’t like the church of Satan, avoid the Halloween travel window. The symbols are prominent. Empaths will want to avoid it.

How to do Disney the right way.

Disney World, that is.

1) PLAN!!! If you don’t, hire it out and plan as far into the future as you can.

2) Get the right goods

A friend called me today, bringing to my attention the new 🚢 Disney Cruiseline requirements for Bahamian cruises.

The concern: all guests 12+ in age must be vaxxd. She has exemptions to it.

My response: there is ALWAYS fine print.

I found the fine print by visiting the Bahamas 🇧🇸 website directly. Below are the fine print of medical exemptions.

If you do have a cruise scheduled between September and November, you will have to get a medical exemption and then spend some time on the phone about this.

Do not, I repeat, do not trust your travel agent to do this for you. You must be your own advocate on this issue and get in writing ✍🏿 that you have clearance to sail. Call Disney yourself and have it verified by a letter.

Let's have a quick chat about Travel Insurance.

My first interaction with this topic was a cruise I booked with an agent. She pushed it hard. I still said "no thank you" although other family members took it.

Actually, that one experience made me really not want to sell it during the years I was an agent myself.

And then travel insurance bit me in the butt as an agent, so I really left it up to the customer. But if you ever have the chance, go ahead and decline the insurance most companies sell.

Here's the cheaper option:
Credit cards!

Did you know when you book travel the RIGHT credit card, it can cover you with travel insurance too? True story. If you go this option there are two choices:

1) High Fee credit card. A travel credit card, say from a hotel chain or airline, that has a $550 annual fee will most likely have insurance on it. The average coverage is $50,000 per person. Please do your own research to verify on your choice of card.

Depending on how many people are traveling, or how many trips you take each year, this one time fee may be totally worth it.

I've gone this route before and it was awesome.

2) Find a lesser known credit card.
I TOTALLY scored AGAIN with Costco on this.

I booked travel and decided to use my Costco card to get my 2% back in cash from the trip total. Turns out, the fine print says it has travel insurance starting the moment my trip starts to the last day, and it covers $250,000 per person!!! Wow! Basically instead of an annual fee they are giving me back money for using this card AND 5 times the insurance.

So, lesson? Check ALL your credit cards for this perk. LOTS changed after 2020 as banks scrambled to recoup from the cancellation of travel and covering a lot of this expense. Cards that used to have it dropped the perk, others still do. But you might just be surprised what you already have available to you.

A Travel Agent's dreaded nightmare, when a client sees Costco Travel and weighs booking with an agent or Costco.

Well, Costco will save you a lot of money. In fact, Costco has won my business because the Costco Cash Card they give me is more than any commissions I would have received as an agent. Here's the factors to consider:

*You get what you get. Costco Travel is a one-size-fits-all option.
If there package that fits you, awesome! BUT if you need it customized, you may want to consider an agent.

Here's my experience booking with Costco Travel for both a Disney Cruise and a Universal Studios park experience.

*I am booking a "guaranteed" stateroom.
That means I get assigned a stateroom some 2-6 weeks before the cruise. This means the stateroom is cheaper, but it's luck of the draw on whether our two rooms are booked to be next to each other. Add in the power of Angels, manifesting, and "the universe has got my back" and I'm ok with being lucky! (I can coach you on this if you don't yet know how to access this power.)

*Costco travel advisor's are limited in what they can do
It's helpful if you have someone (like me!) who says "Call Disney and request this, this, and this, for your cruise." Disney doesn't care who's on the phone, but because Costco is giving you back so much of their commissions, they leave it up to you to take care of the details.
For me? I'm calling in to see if I can change to main dining from second seating (I can't, but I can still request it when I check in at the port. Which I won't because I'd rather dine with the friends who are traveling with me and moving all of us would be a monstrous feat.)

*You have to add your own Castaway Club ID to the reservation or log in and link it. But if you know this, you like feeling in control of it! :)

NOW Consider what a travel package looks like with Costco for Universal Studios.

I'm visiting with my family in October. I decided to compare my options against Costco. No go. Costco only has a 4 day package. I need a two-day.
I also know that when you book with an agent, you get early access. So, I call up one of my favorite travel agents.

When I booked the tickets for the rest of my family, I didn't get tickets for me and my daughter. I'd hoped to get a travel agent comp ticket. But I've decided not to be an agent anymore, so that option is gone. If I'd booked it early, the ticket price would have been $1107. The price for tickets for me and my daughter are now $1700. The travel agent then prices out staying at a hotel, which I already know could potentially save me money. Turns out I can have a one night stay, all the benefits I needed to match the other tickets I have, and the price went to $1180. Perfect! ONLY an $80 increase and now I have a place to rest mid-day if I need.

So, If you need tips like this, where I can share all my background knowledge to assist you, my fee is $75 for an hour. The first phone call will be a full hour. Additional hours purchased can be broken up into 20-30 min increments.

Knowledge is power, and money!

Printing $250 in cranky bucks for Disney world. Cranky bucks are money to pay for you to throw a tantrum and feel justified. Amazing for little kids to shape up but also give them time to not be happy for a little bit during a wait in a ride. If you’ve got entra at the end, you can buy a souvenir. Gonna need a lot because there are 13 kids comin on this trip 🤪🤪🤪

One of my secret skills as your travel agent is knowing all the places that are good with food allergies, sensitives, and overall preferences.

Disney is one of my favorite places to vacation because I get to know the wait staff and often the chefs themselves as they review food needs of mine.

It appears the newest ship due out Summer 2022, the Disney Wish, will take it up a notch with vegan menus catering to the no egg, dairy, fish, meat crowd.

Disney Cruise Line unveiled its latest and greatest ship today! The Disney Wish will set sail for the first time in the summer of 2022, and it will be the first of the Disney cruises to offer vegan menus as part of the dining experiences on board the ships.
