Throwback to the 1970's: Snow Canyon, Independence Mts. of Elko County. One of my last horseback hunts and pack-outs. I flushed a group of 7 bucks, missed some shots. I concentrated on one of the bigger bucks (turned out to be the SMALLEST!). Forever dragging around the proverbial "IF ONLY..."!😲🤭

Spring Valley (Area 231) bucks this morning- a 4x3 and a 5x4- couldn't get them to pose as the headed over a hill!

Out chasing elk with my camcorder- I have seen bull elk (one bachelor herd of 20+ animals). They are very skittish, and are off and running for the trees before dawn. Cows and calves are only skittish when alerted by a lead cow. And some of the little ones hang around crying for their mommas!

Doing a bit of Video "elk hunting": All my encounters have been in low-light before sunup. This was best footage I could muster, but I saw close to a hundred elk, and a dandy bachelor group of 20+ animals (Pearson Ranch, Area 231).

Didn't get out much again... but a few! (I wish the start date would be changed back to April 1. Not enjoyable to hunt for sheds when weather is warming up, and bugs and snakes are out!)

Bob Mincey: I tried to post in messenger: this is a continuation of our "discussion" if you see it- this unusual "big ol' muley" has 4 points and no browtine- we would call him a 2x2 buck, a 2-point, or a forked horn.

I spent the last week trying to get some mule deer shots. I wish I could say this was the smallest buck I saw, but in reality it was the largest one I saw and one of the largest I have ever photographed.
