All of our programmes are designed by a team of specialist doctors, physiotherapists and paediatricians, under the guidance of the RugbyBugs Director Matt Williams, who has had 8 years of coaching experience; Matt has worke
d with a variety of ages, abilities, genders and personalities. He has coached nationally and internationally in Africa, France, England, Wales and the USA.
“In my life as an athlete and as a coach, I give all that I have, every day, and I let my sport do the talking for me. I have never lost sight of where I came from and what my sport has done for me. I am always looking at ways of improving and developing myself, and I do my best to pass this on to the players I coach. The day you think you are there and know it all is the day someone else passes you and leaves you behind to swallow his dust.” Matt Williams
Though a combination of rugby based training modules children are not only taught the art of rugby (by highly trained coaches and in many cases ex professionals) and the core skills needed, but also taught how to develop invaluable social skills such as listening, sharing, taking turns and especially, working together as a team. All RugbyBugs sessions are conscientiously woven into an ever evolving programme that places as much emphasis on concepts like learning colours and developing number skills as on fine-tuning a child’s basic balance, agility and co-ordination skills. All RugbyBugs programmes are taught in a positive, pressure-free environment, which encourages to children learn and develop at their own pace. RugbyBugs prides itself on being able to do more than help produce the next Jonny Wilkinson, more than just teach children the core skills to be a good rugby player; it prides itself in working in partnership with the whole family. We believe in offering all of our knowledge and expertise that extends the rugby field, by providing invaluable health & fitness guides and nutritional booklets, which parent/carers find particularly useful. RugbyBugs promotes individuality and encourages this through building confidence and self assurance. We also ensure that children enhance their core skills by playing and learning together with their peers. As such, RugbyBugs programmes are designed age appropriately and give a clear step by step programme that can be accessed by all. Together this encourages children to maximise their knowledge and understanding, their eagerness to participate and be part of a team and above all enables children to develop to their full potential.
