Interactive Arts & Culture Media Jamaica,
Digging into Jamaica's Culture It is our intention to bring a taste of our infectious spirit to the rest of the world.
Our business model is focused on streaming and promoting events however we have embarked on a path to expose the Creative Arts and Tourism sectors through music, film, fashion and animation, for mutual benefits. We firstly want to re-awaken the spirits of Jamaicans living at home and in the Diaspora to essentially strengthen our connection then extend our warm friendly spirit and vibrant persona t
o the rest of the world. To that end we stream, write and promote/produce products and initiatives that represent the Jamaican brand. We seek to create partnerships between international and local agencies to expose Jamaica’s indigenous artistic forms and elements to ensure that Jamaica benefits financially from her intellectual properties.

WONDERS OF JAMAICA The world was once enamored by both the wealth and wickedness of a place called Port Royal. In the 17th century, Port Royal was deemed the ‘informal’ capital of Jamaica, and hosted the headquarters for buccaneers as well as pirates. It was a wealthy city of merchants, artisans, ship captains, slaves, and, of course, notorious pirates, who gave it its title of the 'wickedest city in the world'. Chief among the buccaneers was Sir Henry Morgan who defeated Camaguey, Port Bello, Maracaibo and Panama and was later knighted and made Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. After 1670, the importance of Port Royal (Jamaica) to England was largely due to its trade in slaves, sugar, and raw materials. It became the mercantile center of the Caribbean, with vast amounts of goods flowing in and out of its harbor as part of an expansive trade network. Later, the storehouse and treasury of the West Indies sank into Kingston Harbor in a disastrous earthquake on June 7th 1692. In an instant 2000 persons were killed and an additional 3000 citizens later died of injuries and diseases. It would seem Port Royal was plagued by natural disasters as following the earthquake; it underwent a dramatic revival only to fall again when it was ravaged by fire in 1703. Between 1712 and 1951 a total of 16 hurricanes consistently battered Jamaica, as well as six additional earthquakes between 1770 and 1956. Following a severe storm, a hurricane, and two earthquakes in 1722, Port Royal as it once was disappeared for the last time. Jamaica has progressed from hosting the world renowned ‘Wickedest city’ to an island now known for its warm affable people and its vacation spots perfected by beautiful beaches. #iacmjwondersofjamaica #portroyal #wickedestcityintheworld #fortcharles #majorearthquake #pirates #sirhenrymorgan #buccaneer
