Call to Supper at Nara, Japan Nara, once the capital of ancient Japan, has been home to hundreds of deer for centuries. Considered messengers of the gods, the herd is a national treasure. Our Bucketeers are touring Japan and our guide, Junko-san, arranged for a special call of the deer. The herd came running to us where we had crackers ready for feeding.
