Greetings to all on this fantastic evening of July 22nd. While June was a wet one this year, July has certainly come through with warm and pleasant weather. Its hard to believe we are approaching the back half of summer 🤯, which is a total drag. However for those that have yet to vacation on the Whitefish Chain this summer the good news is you can! Below is a list of "Opportunities" we have for guests to join us this year.

August 10th - August 17th cabin #13 is available. This is a spacious 3 bedroom cabin which has a King, Queen, and 2 Twin beds. Comes with ceiling fans, AC, internet, and a screened in porch. This is a very nice cabin.

August 17th - August 24th we have cabin #3 available. Remodeled in 2023 this 3 bedroom cabin is referred to as the "Eagles Nest". Comes with a King, Queen, and 2 Twin beds, AC, ceiling fans, internet, screened in porch, and it rests right on the beach with an amazing view of the lake, and is great for watching sun rises.

August 17th - August 24th we also have Cabin #4 available. This cabin just received new flooring this spring and is a nice smaller 3 bedroom cabin which comes with 2 Queen beds, 2 Twin beds, AC, Internet, and a nice big deck. Cabin #4 rests right on the beach and has fantastic views of the lake, and is great for watching sun rises.

August 24th - August 30th we have cabins #3 & #4 available as well!

As I mentioned we're staring at the back half of summer folks. I purchased back to school supplies today!!

Anyway if you or someone you know deserves to get a way have them contact us. We ask again you please share this post as we would love to finish the vacation season on a strong note. We've been very blessed to have so many familiar families return to join us this year, and we can't convey enough how much it means to us.

Here we are,

Bobbing our heads above the water praying it stops raining. Meanwhile, the 4th of July is headed for us at full steam "Patriotic" as hell, and ready to deliver.

Most of you have your celebratory plans in place and in order, however you may know someone who forgot their boat doesn't launch itself, or that those burgers and wieners don't roast themselves.

Well, for those that may have been distracted by the day to day hustle and bustle we have your back. Like Thomas Jefferson back in 1776 Bay View Lodge is here to lead those without proper 4th of July plans to victory. The water is as high as we've seen it right now, and they have the dam open to full. A wake at this time could do a lot of damage to boats, docks, and the shoreline. Just a heads up.

Law enforcement in Cass and Crow Wing counties are urging boaters in those counties to follow a slow or no-wake speed on lakes and waterways when close to the shoreline. Currently, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recommends a slow, no-wake zone of at least 200 feet, and sometimes an…

Greetings Bay View Fanatics!

We have heard the crappies are biting! If you or anyone you know, are looking for a last minute reservation, please keep us in mind!

Embarrassingly, we have "a lot" of openings! We are hoping everyone will like and share our post so we can fill some of these cabins.

Here is what we have available:

Cabin #4 - This is a nice 3 bedroom cabin which sits right on the beach and has a terrific view of the lake. She may be a little small, but its the old school feel with some updates!

Cabin #5 - This is a spacious 3 bedroom built in 2019 that has a sweet view of the lake and beach. How is this available you ask? The usual guests have an event they have to attend. Their loss is someone's opportunity!

Cabin #6 - This is a spacious 3 bedroom cabin that "also" has a great view of the beach and lake. This one might be a little older, however it has a great feel inside.

Cabin #7 - (What)?!! This is a spacious 4 bedroom 2 bathroom, multi level cabin built in 2021. If a person hasn't already booked for Memorial, this is a great opportunity! It has a lake and beach view!

Cabin #10 - This is a great spacious 2 bedroom cabin with a ginormous screened in porch. This is a cozy cabin for a small family or a couple of love birds!

Cabin #11 - This is a nice 4 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin with a screened in porch. Its a nice cabin, it just sits off the lake a little. Would be a sweet pick up for a couple families to share!

Cabin #13 - This is a spacious 3 bedroom cabin that would arguably be one of our best. Its only downfall is it sits off the lake a little. Very open floor plan, screened in porch, and is very comfortable!

We have opportunities for large familys or big groups of friends

It’s been roughly a month since we posted and we are excited to share Bay View Lodge in Crosslake has “Won” The best of award for the “Best Resort in the BLA”!

We would like to thank those of you who took the time to vote for us every day of last month, it truly is appreciated. We were informed Tuesday, August 1st, and have taken the last week to reflect and process the realization.

The real truth is there are so many worthy and deserving resorts in the BLA. Operating a resort, regardless of the size, brings a lot unknows on a daily basis. Resorters need to have knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, customer service, land scaping, retail, clerical, accounting and so much more. We would like to think we work hard year-round to provide our guests a great vacation experience; where families can count on making new memories every year. I assure you, there are other resorts & resorters who are just as worthy, if not more worthy of this recognition.

With that said, Jim & Mary Ann Berg were resorters their entire lives and settled here at Bay View Lodge. Upon purchasing Bay View in 1987, Jim & Mary Ann dedicated themselves by either remodeling or rebuilding all 13 cabins from 1988 through 2017. That’s an incredible amount of time to cruise over, and it can not be understated.

I was lucky enough to grow up on resorts. Bay View Lodge was actually the 4th resort my parents owned. Personally, for me to grow up watching them pour their blood, sweat, and tears into this place, and seeing how happy it made the guests left a “BIG” impression. I appreciate just how hard my parents worked to make Bay View a great vacation destination.

It was 2018 when I took over operating the resort my parents worked so hard to build. I immediately took the opportunity to make improvements such as rebuilding cabin #5 in 2019, remodeling multiple bathrooms in 2020, rebuilding cabin #7 into a multi-level 4-bedroom cabin 2021, building screened in porches on multiple cabins in 2022, and then remodeling cabins #2 & #3 in 2023. None of this would be made possible without the love of my life, Patricia, taking my hand in marriage on March 17th 2021. We we’re married on the 17th, and we’re in cabin #7 the next morning working. Patricia is the glue that makes all we do here at Bay View Lodge possible.

It is important to note we are lucky enough to have our kids to thank. While Patrica and I work diligently behind the scenes our kids are tasked with maintaining the grounds, beach, sauna, patio, maintaining beach equipment, and getting garbage twice daily. While their work may not be perfect every day, they certainly do put forth an effort we are proud of. They are appreciated, and at times undervalued. However, we truly understand how lucky we are to have them, and we try very hard to provide them with fun life adventures as much as we can.

Last, yet definitely not least, we are extremely blessed to have many selfless friends that have devoted endless amount of sweat and blood into helping maintain the resort.

In closing, we want to thank all our guests who have grown with us, been loyal to us, and have entrusted us with their vacations for the last 36 years here at Bay View. My parents found this to be a rewarding career path, and My wife I find the same joy, and fulfillment. With any luck one of our 5 children will find the same desire and we can pass the torch. Until then our family will continue to find ways to make Bay View Lodge better in all capacities.

Another week and yet another cabin that does not have up to date pictures on our website. This weeks batch of photo's is of our "only" 2 bedroom cabin. You'll see this is a spacious 2 bedroom cabin with a Queen bed and 2 twin beds and 1 bathroom. It comes with ceiling fans, and a really big screened in porch which was added in 2019. It's a pretty sweet cabin!

Please note we had a cancellation for July 15th through July 22nd.

Hello again to those choosing to cruise the FB world. Its been roughly 10 days since our last post. This week we'd like to share pictures of Cabin #3 which was remodeled this last winter! It's a fantastic 3 bedroom cabin which sits right on the beach. Arguably the best view of the lake!

We are down to 2 openings left for the summer as we were able to rent our cabin #8 for next week. Thank you for all the shares!!

1 opening is for cabin #9 for the week of July 29th through August 5th. This is a spacious 4 bedroom 2 bathroom cabin which comes with a very big screened in porch. The weekly rate is $3,381 for 8 people.

Our other availability is cabin #13 the week of August 12th through August 19th. This cabin is a spacious 3 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin that has a nice screened in porch. The rate for this cabin is $2,782 for 6 people.

With summer officially in full swing we thought it might be prudent to give a little taste of the changes made here at Bay View the last 6 months. For those who have stayed in cabin #2 you might recognize the outside of the cabin a little, however the interior has changed dramatically!

Also of note: We still have cabins #2, #3, #4, and #6 available the week of June 24th through July 1st.

Cabin #3 is a brand-new cabin as of spring 2023 as well!

We also have cabin #8 available the week of July 1st through the 8th!

With approximately 2 weeks until the holiday weekend, we have 2 cabins still available!

Cabin #7 was built in 2021! Multilevel 4 bedroom (1 king, 2 queen, 2 twins) and 2 bath. It has the perfect location in the middle of the resort. The deck overlooks the beach!

Cabin #13 is a spacious 3 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin. It has a large kitchen and living room with an open floorplan. It also has a cozy screened in porch!

It's Ground Hog Day! or a few days after. However you look at it we were informed we are in for 6 more weeks of winter. Bummer! Anyway, we hope you are staying warm and finding ways to get outside and enjoy all the many wonderful things the world has to offer.

I'm reaching out to let everyone know I have officially received everyone's deposits for this upcoming 2023 vacation season. I still have about 8 to get too, but I have confirmed who "is" and who is not joining us this year.

I want to thank everyone for sharing my availability of cabin #6 the week of August 7th through August 14th. I was able to rent it out today!

Then shortly after I had a cancellation for the same week. Now I have cabin #10 available. This is a very spacious cabin which is our only 2 bedroom and it sleeps 4 very comfortably. If you know anyone still looking to get up north this summer please let them know!

I also have cabin $2 available the last week of August the 28th through September 4th. Cabin #2 is a 3 bedroom cabin and sleeps 6 people. There's still time!
