HAVING a BABY SOON? Do you have a NEWBORN? Are you a FIRST TIME MOM? Read below 🖐📖 Have you heard of BLW? Baby-led weaning is a method of adding real foods to a baby's diet of breastmilk or formula. A method of food progression, BLW helps with the development of oral motor control at the right age while maintaining eating as a positive, interactive experience. Some people think they have to follow the crowd and do what everyone else is doing. And I don’t blame you. I would have done the same thing but I have done my research on the subject and I believe it’s what’s best for my baby! So basically you give the baby (over 6 months preferably) finger sized slices of food and you let them put it in their mouths and move it around and explore with the food. They have a natural gag reflex so don’t worry if the baby Gags, it’s natural! They will spit out anything they can’t handle. There is a difference between choking and gagging. So don’t worry momma! Babies naturally put EVERYTHING in their mouths so why not food? I know it’s scary trying something new but mommas always have good instincts and always know what’s best for baby. My sister did this with my niece and now she eats EVERYTHING she’s not picky and she knows how to chew and swallow food. When your baby only has soft mushed food, all she or he knows how to eat food is swallow, so whenever he or she is ate the right age to start eating whole food. That’s when they will just start swallowing and that’s when choking is an issue!! So I recommend this because at this age because, all the baby wants to do is explore and it’s INSTINCT. If you wait to introduce solids till later they have to learn how to chew (like riding a bike). Hope y’all enjoyed! -Kat
