One of the experiences this quote makes me think of is visiting Santiago de Compostela.
In this picture I am lying on the pavement in front of the majestic cathedral to capture this moment for two travelers who’ve just completed the renowned Camino de Santiago. Their paths crossed at various stages along the trails and were happy to meet up again at the final destination. They each shared fascinating tales and experiences with me about their physical struggles and personal enlightenments along the trails.

In Spain the festive spirit extends from December 24th to January 6th, each day marked by unique celebrations. And just as the festivities vary, so does the way people express their Christmas cheer. You’re probably familiar with ‘Feliz Navidad’… but in Catalonia, you’ll hear ‘Bon Nadal’.
In Galicia, the greeting is ‘Bo Nadal’.
And, if you wander through the Basque Country, locals will wish you ‘Eguberri on’.

Exploring the vibrant heart of Spain during Christmas, or ‘Navidad’ as it’s fondly called here, is like stepping into a living, breathing postcard.
Each corner of the country, from large cities to quaint villages, is adorned with dazzling lights and decorations.

A fun and lesser-known fact about Spain is that it has the world’s oldest existing lighthouse still in use.

Hola Segovia! You truly are a treasure. As part of the Classic Tour each year we stop at this beautiful town which is home to one of the best preserved aqueducts in Europe - the aqueduct of Segovia. Being in the presence of this structure of unmortared granite blocks from the Roman Era certainly transports you back in time. This year the Classic Tour group had the opportunity to visit The Cathedral of Toledo - the most important cathedral of Spain - and what a treat to also experience the town band inside practicing for the most known and important Catholic festivity in Toledo: Corpus Christi. I simply can’t get over the acoustics and beautiful architecture of this place. PS.
