It was a great week with our family at Splash RV Resort in Milton, FL! We also visited Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park in Ft. Walton Beach. The best part of it all was spending time together!!

Is it even camping if you didn’t make s’mores?

We did it! We visited the last 7 states of the 48 contiguous states to complete the journey we set out on in 2019-2020, but had to pause due to the pandemic. Over the last couple of days, we’ve driven the scenic route through Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. We’ve been through many quaint little towns, seen beautiful small churches, gorgeous mountain streams, and breathtaking views. We’ve pretty much been taking in all of the scenery and failed to snap many pictures. Vermont wraps up our trip of the NE, and we’ll be headed back to Alabama soon. We’re so thankful we were able to have this experience with Brennan! Hopefully, we will make it to Alaska and Hawaii one day!

Okay, Boston, how did we not realize how much we’d love our visit!?! We are already discussing a return trip to enjoy more of this amazing city! Seeing the humpback whales was definitely a highlight! When we return, we plan to spend a few days exploring some of the historical sites. Our bus tour definitely piqued our interest!!! Here’s a quick glimpse of our stay.

We are really enjoying our time in Montana. So far, we've explored the West Side of Glacier. The Red Bus Tour up to Logan Pass was awesome because everyone was able to enjoy the views... Roger usually can't, because he's driving and Going to the Sun Road is so intense! It's been a bit warmer than we expected, but we were able to cool off after kayaking Lake McDonald. That was an amazing experience, too! Looking forward to exploring the East side tomorrow! It has been wonderful spending time with Nate and Ashtyn! We've missed them!

We added one more sticker on this trip as we’d never stayed in North Dakota. The western style town of Medora was very intriguing, and we really enjoyed Theodore Roosevelt National Park!

Well, this trip has been a different kind of “adventure” for us. However, we are safe and for that we are thankful. This is our 4th stop for RV repairs. This guy says he isn’t a hero, but he certainly is to us. We appreciate him opening his shop up on a Saturday morning to get us back on the road. According to him, we were very fortunate that we had not already lost our entire back end. A little behind schedule, but hoping to make it to our destination today!!

Today, we’ve spent a little more time in Wisconsin than we had planned. Hopefully, we’ll be on the road again soon. But, I’m super thankful for this guy and his towing company. And, I’m oh so thankful for our safety, because this could’ve been so much worse. As we were traveling West on I-94, my parents (who are traveling with us) called to say that the brakes on our 5th wheel were locked up and we needed to stop at the next exit. About the time they called, we heard a loud bang and pulled off the busy interstate in the rain. The bearings had failed and our entire wheel had come off. Thank God that it didn’t hit my parents or any other vehicles, but rolled right across the interstate. We spent the day waiting in Black River Falls, WI, as our camper was being repaired. Another 5 hour travel day has turned into a >10 hour day, but we are safe, and I pray for continued safety for our family on this trip. I wish I had taken pictures of this quaint little town, and I wish had been in better spirits to enjoy it. Thanks for following our journey. Keep us in your prayers!

For the past few days, we’ve enjoyed spending time in Holmes County, Ohio, learning about the Amish. We saw so many interesting things and learned a great deal about their lifestyle. It’s hard to believe that with today’s technology, there’s still a population that lives in the simple ways of the past. I was absolutely fascinated that they choose to live this way, but I also found myself longing for this simple lifestyle at times, too. We toured an Amish home and farm, enjoyed a buggy ride, and listened to a presentation about their choices for education. We ate fresh baked bread as well as many other homemade goodies. We also had the opportunity to attend Horse Progress days where they demonstrate different ways to work their horses in the fields. This is a huge event which thousands of Amish attend. It was so interesting! They carry you from the parking area by buggies. They had homemade goodies everywhere. They were having chainsaw sculpting competitions, pony pulls, and tons of other activities. We enjoyed our time in the heart of Amish country! The landscape was beautiful, and we loved seeing all of the farms. There are seven different “orders” (I think that’s what they’re called) with varying degrees of conservatism. They derived from the Mennonites who also populate this area. It’s against their beliefs to have pictures taken of their faces, and in the early days, they didn’t make faces on their dolls either. It was all very interesting, and I hope we return again someday!
