As our Lao, Thai and Cambodian friends are celebrating a new year, we want to recognize and applaud Article 22 for transforming a negative into a positive. This Peacebomb bracelet and many other stunning pieces are carefully handcrafted by local Lao Artisans using bomb scraps founded on land.
The story: America's Secret War made Laos the most bombed country in the world, per capita.

The incredibly talented artist, Fuyuki Shimazu has traveled to 27 countries in search of discarded cardboard boxes to beautifully craft them into wallets, business card holders and other artistic products.
Directed by Ryusuke Okajima, prouced by Yuko Shiomaki, FROM ALL CORNERS, a SXSW documentary that follows Fuyuki's journey to find the next cardboard treasure made it's world premiere last month.

@ Ecofest Barrie: Eco-couture design by Vanessa Lee Wishart - "My design is made from a reclaimed wedding dress and dryer sheets that has been reconstructed into an asymmetrical (one shoulder), mini dress and fascinator. The top is accented with sequin appliqués taken from the wedding dress to add glamour and glitz to the garment. The skirt is made from discarded dryer sheets I picked up from my local laundry mat, friends and family. My inspiration for this garment is the mythical faerie. I wanted a dress that invokes an ethereal and playful quality. I wanted to add a little fun to recycled fashion."
