Day 1/3 only because this is a short week for me. Next week I’ll be on my 5/5 journey.
I have been silently working out, not posting planning to do a reveal once I hit my goal weight. But my friend challenged me to go ahead and post my journey.
I didn’t completely follow instructions because I forgot to video my walk but thank goodness for my Apple Watch that captured my movement.

Too often leaders forget that being compassionate is part of the role. To be compassionate does not equate to you being weak.
Compassionate includes attributes of being understanding, considerate, caring, concerned, thoughtful, humane, good-natured and plenty more.
Being hard, rough and indifferent doesn’t get the job done.

Yesterday, I’m riding into work listening to the with and her guest host said this. “If you can’t make the storm go away then make it work!”
I can’t remember whose voice it was but the statement rang so loud. 🗣🗣🗣
When storms arise in my life my first approach is to make them stop. I want it to go away. When they don’t I have questioned my faith, questioned God, gotten mad 😡, pouted, thrown my hands in the air in disgust, mentally quit, etc…hey maybe it’s just me but I’m like this has to stop. I don’t have time for this!
But what about all of the lessons I’ve learned coming through the storm, the victories I’ve experienced. It wasn’t for NOTHING!!!
So next time you’re in a storm that won’t go away put that thing to work!!! God doesn’t waste anything and neither should you.

Perspective is key to the pursuit of your goals. If you allow the failures, crisis, delays, denials, fear, problems, and elapsed time (this is not an all inclusive list) to stop you from pursuing your goals you will NEVER achieve them.
Learn from the experiences…what to do better, how to plan better, how to think better and through your consistent, committed pursuit you WILL accomplish the goal.
Use the failures, missteps etc to catapult you toward the very thing you have envisioned.
Your success is right on the other side of your last failure. Question is, are you going to do what you NEED to do or only what you are WILLING to do? 🤷🏾‍♀️🤔🤷🏾‍♀️🤔

While listening to minister about change he said something that pierced my heart. He gave an example of delaying a back surgery because the pain of the recovery seemed like it would be worse than the pain he was experiencing in his body.
It wasn’t until the pain in his body surpassed the expected level of pain for recovery, that he decided to have the surgery. Because he realized that the pain he would experience during recovery had an ending but not having surgery meant he would never have relief.
How many of us are choosing to live with the pain of a bad decision, a mistake, suffered trauma, etc. because we believe that the pain associated with the journey of recovery will be worse.
Yes there may be pain in making a change. Change hurts but a change for the better is like corrective surgery…temporary and it’s for our betterment.
Have the courageous conversation. Take the step to change. Look in the mirror and make a decision to not just know better but to do better. It might hurt for a moment but the healing will come and the pain will be less important than the progress you’ve accomplished.
Just like the woman who travails in giving birth once the baby is born she forgets the pain because of her joy for the birth of her child. John 16:21
