Samedia is back 1st Feb at the The Mash House with a Karawane takeover and then we are off to Bristol and Kendal for our annual West Coast mini-tour, but before that Disco Makossa returns to The Bongo Club on 10th Jan.

Let's keep dancing together in 2025 ❤

Happy Solstice to one and all 💫 In just 6 short months - all being well - we will meet to celebrate the height of summer on the beach. For now, we want to say a huge thanks to all who have danced with us this year. It's been a bumpy one at times, but finishing on a great high we feel. We will continue to strive to create fun, safe spaces filled with fresh global sounds for us to share and connect with. Have a great Xmas and maybe see you on NYE at the ▲ Samedia Hogmanay Tropical Soundclash ▲ Big Love to All ❤️

Introducing Samba Sene & Diwan - a diverse international collection of musicians, who share a global outlook and love of West African rhythms. Exuberant fusion of funky mbalax/Afrobeat grooves, with undercurrents of ska and reggae; original songs with impassioned vocals, infectious guitar licks and irresistible dance grooves.

Musician Samba Sene was born in Dakar, Senegal, and moved to Scotland in 2000, where he settled in Edinburgh. A charismatic singer, his style is strongly influenced by a wide range of music, from traditional to funk, rock and ska. His influences include former mentor Baaba Maal, Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Alpha Blondy and Aswad. Original songs cover a range of subjects including love, equal rights and outright celebration. Uplifting and upbeat.

Our jaunt to Bristol and Kendal is now an annual affair and we really enjoy checking in with our pals and having a good session while we're at it.... on 7th and 8th February we'll be teaming up with Ru Robinson, Roze Gold and North Fire Sound to host the following dances.
