It might be like watching paint dry, but this newly (somewhat) painted cabin is making baby steps to the finish line. 🤔 Remembering this time last year, “Oh, we’ll be renting in Jan 2022!” 😂😂😂 Well now we’re hoping for summer 2023 🤦‍♀️ If only I had $10000000 to pay the quotes that pretty much add up to that amount to finish then maybe we’d be done by now. But apparently contractors are the new Dr’s charging $300/hr so until I can get things wrapped up affordably, this is the progress we have thus far. Only this short list to go:
- paint exterior
- paint windows
- finish boardwalk
- finish sunken fire pit
- drywall
- flooring
- plumbing
- electrical
- tile bath and kitchen
- demo old walls
- new staircase
- new railings (inside and out)
- new furniture
- trim work
- countertops
- just get contractors to show up
- (I’ll stop for now before I 🤯)

But when she’s done she’ll be glorious, beautiful, serene, and waiting for YOU!

I LOVE BLAAAAAACK 🖤🖤🖤 See the start of the cabin turning black? 🤗 I had my little helper today check the hot tub PH and turn on the new dehumidifier. Not too exciting. Things are coming along but SOOOOO SLOOOOOW 😭 next year it appears. Windows aren’t cut in, metal roof not on, contractors saying they’ll “be here next week”, “wrapped up in a day” blah blah blah. WHY DO CONTRACTORS SUCK SOOOK MUCH? 🤬 Anywho, you can see how secluded the cabin is just waiting for you, just not in the immediate future 👎

Hocking Hills has the BEST renters! A couple kind fellas who were renting nearby the cabin offered their help to unload my mountain of supplies! 🙏 In exchange I told them they could use my kayaks. No fun to rent a cabin near a lake you can only look at!

Loading and unloading metal roofing and cedar trim today for our up and coming Stowaway Black Label Cabin. When took 2 hours to load the rental truck with fork lifts I was like OMG how am I going to unload all this by myself?! 🤯

I know, it’s been a minute (or 6 months) since any cabin updates… well needless to say we’ve had some delays… contractors getting arrested, contractors not showing up, supply shortages, the list goes on.

BUUUUUT we ARE in the home stretch (at least for exterior work.) Well was drilled yesterday, septic is in, cabin exterior is getting wrapped up, and then next is wrapping up interior.

Hang tight future BLC guests, we can’t wait to host you! More updates and storytelling coming soon 😊
