Hello friends!

I'm so excited to finally announce that CMT 2023 is officially a GO! Here are all the details:

When: Rehearsals June 19-23, M-F 9:30-2:30
Where: La Cueva High School Choir Room/ PAC
Tuition: $135/child
Performance: Friday, June 23 at 1PM

For kids outgoing grades K-8. (If your child just finished 8th grade, they can still participate this summer. Children need to have completed a year of kindergarten to participate.)

To celebrate our 15th anniversary, we will be putting together a musical review based on the theme of SUMMER! We'll be learning lots of fun songs about summer from shows like Phineas and Ferb, High School Musical 2, and Frozen, as well as classics like Surfin' USA, Under the Boardwalk, and Take Me Out to the Ballgame. It's going to be a blast.

Participation is capped at 60 participants, and closes June 12, so don't wait to head over to registration!

I am excited to announce that I am returning to school to get a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting this fall at UNM. Because I haven't been to school in 20 years, and I'm not sure how much time/energy this will take, all of our Singers groups will be on hiatus until further notice. If it's super easy for me, I may look at starting classes back up in the Spring of 2022. However, I'm thinking it's more likely that I won't be ready to start back up until Fall of 2023, after I graduate. In the meantime, keep singing, everybody! And stay tuned for some smaller projects and summer camps along the way.

Halfway done with rehearsing for Explore-Dream-Discover, and it’s looking good! These kids are fun, hardworking, and I can’t wait to see how they bring it all together for their performance on Saturday!!

I told these kids on Day 1 that they were part of something extraordinary. Not very many casts this big (60 kids) and this young (grades K-8) can put together a quality hour-long show in just 4 rehearsals. But just watch these kids do that.

Only a handful of spots left in our Explore, Dream, Discover summer camp! We have so many fun pieces ready to learn, wonderful directors lined up and a fun outdoor venue that will be our home for rehearsals, performance and a fun cast party. Our CMT summer camp show this year is “Explore-Dream-Discover” inspired by this quote attributed to Mark Twain. We’ll be learning songs from beloved children’s musicals that speak of dreams, discovery and exploration as we visit places around the world through music.

So excited to be able to offer our Children’s Music Theatre summer camp this year!

Tuesday-Saturday, June 1-5.
K-2nd graders rehearse from 9:30-noon. 3-8 graders will rehearse from 12:30-3:30. We will be rehearsing and performing outdoors at El Nido Farms. We’ll be learning and performing lots of music from familiar and fun youth musicals!

Registration opening next week for one week only! (April 19-24) So mark your calendars!

For covid safety, we will be rehearsing and performing outside wearing masks or face shields, making efforts to social distance, and adult leaders have been vaccinated.

Sadly, we are unable to offer Youth Singers this semester but are hopeful Youth Singers will be back on the schedule for Spring!!

Happy to have been invited back to Dennis Chavez Elementary this year to direct their school musical. Their two performances yesterday were so much fun and I am amazed every time at how much kids can pull off in such a short time. 58 kids + 2 directors + 2 amazing husbands + 9 rehearsals + 1 PTA Committee = some crazy, fun, chaotic, colorful, exhausting, energetic, beautiful MAGIC.

Register your 3-5 year old in this fun music class! We have fun putting music into our bodies, with songs, instruments, dancing, marching, and more! 2 year olds accompanied by a parent are welcome too.

Small Singers is for children in K-2 grades. This group meets Wednesdays from 2:30-3:15 PM at the Gariety home. Children will learn some beginning music-reading skills and vocal technique in a fun and active environment where we use our bodies, movement, percussion instruments, stories and singing to explore music. $175/semester + tax.
