Mexico Resorts are so much more than Cancun!

One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor is introducing my clients to new ways to explore and go beyond Cancun.

And yes — Cancun is amazing. But if you’re looking for something different, here’s a few ideas:

Isla Mujeres
🌴 Postcard-perfect beaches without the crowds
Just a 20-minute ferry ride from Cancun, Isla Mujeres feels like a hidden gem. Think crystal-clear water at Playa Norte, vibrant local charm, and epic snorkeling with colorful marine life. It’s a quiet escape where time slows down, and yes, you can still sip margaritas by the beach.

Holbox
🏝️ This tiny island feels like a secret slice of paradise.
Holbox is for those who want untouched beauty and a slower pace. No cars, just sandy streets, boutique hotels, and flamingos casually hanging out on the shore. Plus, the bioluminescent waters at night? Total bucket list material.

Playa del Carmen
☀️A little more action, but with a local twist.
Playa del Carmen is all about variety. Stroll Quinta Avenida for vibrant restaurants and shops, or head to quieter beaches just outside the main area. And you can add on a day trip to Cozumel for incredible snorkeling or diving, it’s just a ferry ride away.

If you know me personally, you know I'm horrible at posting things in a timely manner. I made this list at the end of 2024, but didn't think to share it until the first month of the new year is over... so at least I'm on brand.

My favorite destination for 2025?

It's the UK. Not only is there so much to offer outside of London (which has a lot to offer on it's own!), but it's the 250th celebration of Jane Austen herself, so in and around Bath there will be a bunch of different events that will be fun and unique to attend.

Any of which can be combined with an epic UK road trip, my personal favorite trip that we took last year.

Although admittedly late bloomers in the travel world, our passion was sparked in 2013 after our founder, Emily, took her first plane ride to Rome, Italy. From there, the rest is history in terms of letting that wanderlust craving thrive.

In 2019 Emily decided to become an independent travel designer and spent the lost years “aka 🐼-emic” honing her skills and making sure she was appealing to the people she wanted to help the most… those busy newlyweds who are stressed about planning their dream wedding but also want to make sure they take their dream European honeymoon.
