Delhi-Agra Semi-High Speed Train all Set to be Flagged off:

The is ready to commence running the semi-high speed train from once it gets the safety clearance mandatory for all new trains.

A with all modern , it will run at a speed of 160 km per hour and cover the distance between the national capital and the city of the in 100 minutes.

“We are ready to run the any time. We are waiting for clearance from ,” a senior official told .

The ministry had set November deadline to start operations. However, getting safety clearance may delay it by a few days.

According to railway officials, coach factory has modified the rakes to make them suitable for joyrides. The coaches will have automatic sliding inner doors and TV infotainment system in the executive chair cars with LED fittings on the back of chairs.

They claimed that the train would offer a smoother ride than and trains. The of the LHB coaches provides for smoke and fire detection systems and latest amenities.

The train would have a single and chair cars of executive and non-executive class.

A trial run on July 3 at the maximum speed of 160 km per hour took 102 minutes to reach Agra and won experts’ approval.

officials said that the new semi-high speed train will not affect the running of existing trains and its timetable will not clash with the schedules of other trains.

Budapest-Tehran train trip is Newest Luxury Pursuit:

A connecting the capitals of and Iran left for the first time on Wednesday, with 70 passengers set to cross the , the and on the way to Persia aboard a set of deluxe .

The two-week trip sets back each participant at least 9,000 pounds ($14,333) and some as much as 25,000 pounds including full service with private bathroom, a program and the beautiful scenery that rolls leisurely by for about 7,000 km (4,350 miles).

The tickets for the first sold out in 10 days, said Tim Littler, the founder of tour operator , adding he planned four more trains to make the trip next year.

"There is a huge vacuum in the industry for people who would like to go to Iran, but want to do it in comfort and safety," Littler told Reuters while aboard a pre-war sleeper as a steam locomotive pulled the cars through the plains.

"The train offers both of those things," he added. " sells for about $1,000-to-$2,000 per day, and this trip is in that price range."

The train may carry more wealth than the annual economic output of some of the places it crosses, but he said that has almost never posed security problems in Golden Eagle's .

"We had more problems in when we started 25 years ago," he said. "We went into areas where people were literally starving and we arrived in an opulent train full of caviar and sturgeon and fine wines."

To make sure absolutely no problem arises, some countries offered extra assistance, he said. The Iranian government, which has announced it would spend heavily to develop its , said it would put military marshals on the train.

East Japan railway takes the wraps off new luxury train:

East Japan Railway Co. has unveiled the designs for a luxury train that’s scheduled to roll into operation around spring 2017.

The exterior design of the lead car features a modern look, with big windows that will allow passengers a dynamic viewing range.

The 10-car train will boast a chic lounge and dining area, along with two deluxe suites and 15 standard suites.

“A purpose of (the train) is to provide luxury” while people enjoy the natural beauty and local food in JR East’s operating area, spokesman Takumi Honma said.
