The Annual Langford Light Up returns for another year with even more sparkle!

Date: December 7th
Time: 3pm to 7pm
Location: The Langford Station (720 Station Ave)

The fun kicks off early at The Langford Station Arts & Cultural District with exciting activities, including crafts, balloon artists, princesses, food trucks, a holiday market, PACE Musical Theatre, Pacific Edge Chorus, Ablaze Choir, local retailers and much more!

Date: December 7th
Time: 5pm to 8pm
Location: Veterans Memorial Park

Starting at 5pm, join us at Veterans Memorial Park for a holiday market, musical performances by Mostly Motown Christmas and Westshore Community Band, cookie decorating, free hot dogs and hot chocolate*, and, of course, the annual Light Up display! Santa will arrive at 5:15pm on the Langford Fire Truck and be available for photos and visits until 7:00pm. The Langford tree lighting will take place at 7:15pm. Around 7:30pm, the IEOA Truck Parade will pass through Langford with its festively lit and decorated trucks.

Join us on Sunday afternoon, December 8 at 2 pm, in the cozy confines of the Ross Bay Villa Drawing Room for a pre-Christmas return engagement and reading by popular author, memoirist and columnist Anny Scoones.

Daughter of celebrated Canadian painters, Molly Lamb and Bruno Bobak, Anny Scoones is the author of Home: Tales of a Heritage Farm, a touching and humorous account of her life on the 150-year-old Glamorgan Farm in North Saanich. Other books by Ms. Scoones include Last Dance in Shediac, a biography of her indomitable mother Molly, this country’s only female war artist, and Hometown, an exploration of the quirky and quaint charms of Victoria’s unique neighbourhoods.

Anny Scoones is a gifted storyteller and this seasonal Sunday afternoon event is sure to be one of the highlights of this winter’s offerings at the Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum. Such an exciting time... Travis is harvesting @victoriabutterflygardens very first cocoa pod!🌴🍫 The Victoria Butterfly Gardens was contacted in early 2020 by a local ocean research scientist who had been on a research vessel off Panama on assignment. While there, they acquired permits to transport fresh fruit from South America back to Canada and their fruit mix contained a few Cocoa fruits. The seeds were harvested and germinated on a windowsill before being planted in our tropical conservatory where they are now producing! How cool?!
