Good evening fellow readers!

Earlier this year we traversed the world of Prythian to bring you a journey inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses.

From an idea in my head, through drafts, and finally to fruition, we launched A Journey of Spring & Starlight. A 9-night adventure through France and Switzerland featuring chateaus, hot air balloons, and our very own Velaris here on earth. It was such a delight to design this trip for you and you've honored me with your interest in it.

And so the time has come to read you another Book [Club Journey]!

Some of you have been lovely enough to take a survey and share your thoughts on our next book and destination.

But, in order to make sure we're really hitting the nail on the head, I thought I'd ask one last time to see what you want us to design.

📚JUNE WRAP UP📚Well that went fast! June came and went. July is here and summer is in full swing here in NC - it's hot hot HOT!

Not my most impressive reading month, but I enjoyed myself (and that's all that matters, right?)

Just for the Summer was probably one of the best romance reads I've had in a while! It made you laugh, it made you cry, the banter was spectacular. Highly recommend if you haven't read it yet.

I'm still working through Chillpreneur. It's great, I'm just terrible at reading physical books and I've been going slowly to highlight notes and things.

I am about halfway through From Blood and Ash. It's our local July book club pick. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at the start but it's growing on me, and finally starting to get exciting.

Still planning to read What the River Knows, but that will be on my July list. Oh, and I *finally* got my Libby hold for One in a Millennial (not pictured) so I can finish that on audio book from a few months back.

I have a rather large memoir physical TBR pile that I need to get through, so I'm thinking I will try to add one to the mix each month.

I've been doing a decent job of sticking to my reading plan rather than going off on a mood read. We'll see how long that lasts!

📚 CHAPTER 39 📚

Another year around the sun and what a wonderful one it’s been!

Not going to lie it was a bit humbling to find a book with 39 chapters, but thank goodness for fantasy books! 😅

Going into the last year of my thirties with a book in my hand, bubbly in my glass, and the support of fabulous friends, family, colleagues, and of course this amazing bookish community.

And just like that, May has wrapped and June (my birthday month 🧁) has begun!I am coming out of May feeling pretty accomplished. We started the month off with a bang with the launch of A Journey of Spring & Starlight. This is my baby, friends, and I am so proud to really and truly have it out in the world.

I finished 3.5 books in May, which for me is pretty solid. I did not get to Diary of a Young Girl and think I may put it aside for the moment. The mood reader in me just hasn't been vibing on it.

Maame by was a fun read and it was the first book my husband read for my local book club, which he's now coming to!

I always enjoy a book and A Villa with a View took me away to Positano for a bit of a Clueless-style step-sibling romance.

When the Moon Hatched by .a.parker.author was just what I needed to fall back into romantasy from a little hiatus after finishing Crescent City. Can't wait for the next book!

Coming up for me are my June and July book club reads: Just for the Summer by and From Blood and Ash by - really looking forward to both!

And I'm also planning to get into Acquisition by after that cliffhanger in the first book!

Lastly, What the River Knows by has been on my TBR since it was our book club pick for March, but I was traveling and didn't attend. Really can't wait to dive into this one.

And if there's time maybe I'll pick another mood read. Any recommendations?

📚 Friday Wrap Up 📚

This was a good week, friends! I feel like I managed to balance work with relaxation pretty well, which is what I’ve been striving for lately.

Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to this week and my weekend plans.

📖 Book:
I just started Chillpreneur by - literally all I’ve gotten through are the Introduction and What is a Chillpreneur and I’m already hooked. I even got those fancy highlighter strips specifically to use for this book and already using them! Really looking forward to diving in more and finding my Chill.

📱E-Book:
This week I finally began my much anticipated read of When the Moon Hatched by .a.parker.author - I’ve been so excited for this one! It’s been a hot second since I’ve read any fantasy (needed a break after Crescent City) and I’m so happy to be back in another world. I’m only through the first ten chapters so not too much to report yet but I’m enjoying the character of Raeve and look forward to unfolding all her adventures.

🎧 Listening:
I get my podcast listening in during my shower and morning routine. I have a few rewatch podcasts that I always cycle through, but when those run out I have been listening to - such a fun way to re-live the ACOTAR series without actually having to do the re-read (I’d love to, I just don’t have the time). I’m sure everyone on Bookstagram already knows who these ladies are, but if you don’t, check them out. Their deep dives and banter are a ton of fun to listen to. And I’m excited to hopefully get to meet them at Romantasy BookCon next year! 🤞

📺 Watching:
I’ve been doing the mandatory rewatch of ahead of season 3 coming out yesterday. I haven’t quite finished the Queen Charlotte episodes yet (my husband wanted to hang out with me a bunch this week which is cute and so I picked him over the Ton). I’m ready to spend the weekend finishing that up and diving into Penelope and Colin’s story. I just love and can’t wait to see her glow up this season!

Posting my On Deck for May and April Wrap Up a couple days early since it's a big week for Book Club Journeys (if you haven't heard, booking for A Journey of Spring & Starlight opens on Tuesday!).I set out to read 6 books in April, which honestly is very ambitious for me and my schedule. But I thought maybe since these weren't SJM size books (*cough* Crescent City) that took me a month to read each book, that -maybe- I could get through them.

I didn't. But it's all good!

I finished Midnight Ruin and Takeover, which were both fun, spicy, quick reads.

One in a Millennial was my local book club pick and I got about a third of the way through by our actual book club night and plan on finishing this one via audiobook as soon as my hold on Libby comes through. Our group had very mixed feelings on this one and while I'm generally enjoying it, I would have liked more bite-sized chapters and maybe a few less pop culture references per sentence.

Maame by was not on my April plan. It's our May book club pick and I got it early on Libby and started right in. I'm absolutely loving it and looking forward to finishing a book club book ahead of schedule for once.

The three books I didn't get to I've put back on my May list, alongside When the Moon Hatched by .a.parker.author which I've been dying to read. I took a little break from fantasy after completing all the books in the SJM universe and honestly just miss getting lost in another world.

Admit it, life in the Spring Court was pretty great in ACOTAR… at least before everyone went under the mountain and before we ever knew about Velaris. Personally I’m hoping that Elain brings the Spring Court into a new golden age. We wouldn’t want all that spring beauty to wither away, would we? What are your predictions for the spring court?
