Big shoutout to Joel and his team Coastal Marine & Outdoors . Diagnosed shot gearbox after hitting a submerged object. I then submitted a claim on insurance, Joel had the new gearbox in transit straight away. Quick trip down this afternoon and I’m back in action. Can’t say enough about the service from this crew 🙏👍

Some more maintenance today. A couple of things going on here.
Remove wheel nuts - least you know they will come off. Better to find out now at home and not on the side of the road.
Grease the matching faces of the rim and hub. Alloy rim touching steel immersed in salt water can and will make a nice weld if not insulated and/or removed regularly.
Wire brush springs and apply rust preventative - This knock out rust has proven good as it is a mix of tar, fish oil and lanolin.

Some preventative r and m . Full strip down of power pole and deck wash pumps. Remove rust and repaint, reassemble and cover with grease tape to stop it returning.

Tinkered with something a little different yesterday- a friend had a portable fridge that he couldn’t control the temp. Main board had failed and that version is no longer available. Did some research and found that you can get a kit to convert it to the newer version. The supplier I used Allvolts Power Solutions in Broome provides the kit with instructions. By the way I ordered it Saturday and had it the next Wednesday to Cairns. Pretty straightforward and she’s away again.

We are well into Build up season. Fishing has been excellent with another metre fish for a recent guest at 105cm , plenty of 80 & 90 cm fish and lots of blue water fun. Arnhemland Barramundi Nature Lodge Maningrida NT
