Fun Fact! Read about it below! 👇

Do you ever wonder why players wear numbers on their jerseys and when that started? Well, it started in 1929 when the New York Yankees decided to commit to numbers on each of their players jerseys. Other sports had implemented numbers, but not in Major League Baseball. The main reason they did it was to help their viewers identify the players more easily, there had been complaints from their fans about that in the past. It slowly started to become more common for the rest of the league to use numbers on their uniforms, and by the 1940's it had become a standard in the league. Now it is a staple in baseball, and every other sport, and a player's number even becomes a part of their identity. What's your favorite number for a jersey, and why?

🏟️ Did you know the fastest MLB game ever took just 51 minutes? On September 28, 1919, the New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies set a record that still stands today! Both teams played all nine innings at an incredibly fast pace, with no breaks between innings and quick plays. Pitchers threw non-stop, and batters swung at the first pitch. It was a unique and thrilling game that left fans in awe of the speed and efficiency on display. What's the fastest game you've ever seen?

Fun Fact! Read about it below👇

Cal Hubbard holds a unique place in sports history as the only person inducted into both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame. In football, he revolutionized the linebacker position, playing for teams like the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers, where he won four NFL Championships. After his gridiron career, Hubbard transitioned to baseball and became a celebrated Major League Baseball umpire, officiating World Series games and later serving as the American League’s Supervisor of Umpires. His pioneering contributions to both sports, from establishing modern linebacker techniques to developing umpiring practices, make him a legendary figure whose legacy continues to influence both fields. It's no wonder that Cal Hubbard's remarkable career earned him dual sports immortality. Did you know about Cal Hubbard and his extraordinary career?

The 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame inductees have been announced!

Congratulations to Ichiro Suzuki! Who nearly became the second player in history to be voted in unanimously, falling just one vote shy of this amazing record! Even still, it is a testament of the impact he's had on the game of baseball. Billy Wagner and CC Sabathia were also voted in, definitely two superstars worthy of this great honor. If you want to see their plaques in the baseball hall of fame once they're put up, maybe consider our Northeast Hall of Fame Baseball Tour here: https://buff.ly/3Cj9ylU What are your thoughts on these inductees? Do you think Suzuki should've got in unanimously or not? Who do you think will be voted in next year?

What is the longest home run in MLB history?

You might think it's someone like Aaron Judge or Shohei Ohtani, powerhouses who can just use their brute strength to turn an awkward pitch into a home run. Or maybe you're thinking back to the legends of the past, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, or Willie Mays. Well, while these are good guesses, the record actually belongs to Joey Mayer, who hit a 582-foot home run in 1987. Just for reference, Shohei Ohtani's farthest home run is 470 feet. Do you think anyone has a chance to break this record anytime soon?
