In small groups of no more than 12 wine adventurers, we tour the great vineyards, sift the soil through our fingers, sit at the table and taste with the winemakers whose craft has been handed down to them through the generations.
We've just completed our final southern hemisphere trip of the season - a fantastic exploration of Patagonia, Chile and Argentina - with a wonderful, fun group! Amazing natural wonders and scenery including a drive over the Andes, fascinating history, Tango lessons & show, plus the BEST wines and food! We've got 2 spots left on our Champagne-Burgundy-Rhone Valley trip in June and a trip to Portugal & Spain in the fall. Stay tuned for our 2025 schedule coming soon!
Just finished a fabulous Exploring Wine trip to Australia with a wonderful group! We tasted the best wines of the Barossa, Eden, and Clare Valleys plus Mclaren Vale and Margaret River. We learned about Aboriginal culture and history with a beautiful and haunting playing of a Didgeridoo inside an ancient cave. We canoed a peaceful stretch of the Margaret River, communed with local fauna, and walked along the Cape to Cape track in Western Australia.
We're looking forward to our next adventure in early March to Chile, Argentina, and Patagonia. Whew...we are having a great fall and winter in the Southern Hemisphere!

Exploring Wine goes on safari!! We've begun our winter season trips to the Southern Hemisphere: South Africa, Australia (2 spots still available), and Chile-Argentina. We've got a wonderful group and have had amazing experiences on safari, in Cape Town, at the Cape of Good Hope, and seeing endangered South African Penguins. Not to mention fantastic wine tastings and incredible meals in the most gorgeous settings! We had a blast taking a Segway ride through the vineyards! Much more to come.

Here are a few fun photos from our final Exploring Wine trip of 2022 - a fabulous visit to Southern Italy, Sicily and Malta. We shared great wines and food, learned about the regional grapes and watched the harvest; saw amazing historic sites including Greek and Roman ruins plus stone-age temples on Malta; climbed up a section of Mt. Etna; and spent a morning sailing the gorgeous waters around Malta by private sailboat. Each of our trips goes well beyond learning and tasting the wines of the regions we visit; we also explore history, art, culture, natural beauty - and we make lasting friends in our group along the way! Our fabulous Exploring Wine trip to Spain and Portugal has come to an end. That's 3 out of 4 spring/summer trips in the books! With our wonderful group we tasted GREAT food and wines, walked across a Roman aqueduct, visited the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, toured the largest cork factory in the world in Porto, and explored amazing historical (and even archeological) sites. We still have a few places avail on our fall trip to Southern Italy and Sicily. Join the fun!!

We visit Italy's boot and romantic, ancient Sicily, with an optional post-trip to the unusual small island nation of Malta. Beautiful landscapes, amazing relics of antiquity, not many tourists, and great wines. The wines of Southern Italy are entirely different from the wines of Tuscany, Piedmont and the north – less collected in personal cellars perhaps, but just as high-quality. Join us! Time flies when you're with fabulous travelers and great friends! Our trip to France concluded with great days in Chablis, Burgundy and the Rhone Valley. Beautiful scenery, historic sites and great food and wines. A bientot!
Exploring Wine summer trip #2 is underway with a fabulous group of Exploring Wine veterans in la belle France! So far in beautiful Champagne. Next to Chablis and Burgundy.
And just like that our time in Scotland and Ireland has come to an end. In Ireland we mixed our own Whisky at Jameson, saw the Book of Kells exhibit at the impressive Long Library at Trinity College, watched a sheepdog do his thing, saw a burial site older than the pyramids, had Irish music played just for us, stayed in castles, toured Belfast with a guide who'd been a boy during The Troubles, and took in the stunning scenery.
The fun in Scotland continues! Great distillery tours, visit to a cooperage, cool wildlife sightings and the gorgeous Isle of Skye...on to Ireland tomorrow...
What a great group we have on our Scotland-Ireland tour!! Lot's of fun so far at The Scotch Whisky Experience, Dunfermline Abbey, and distilleries, and now on the Isle of Skye. So much more fun awaits!

Their 2021 list was just released, and Exploring Wine is on the map! Between 2019 and 2022 our trips will have taken our enthusiastic travelers to 10 of the 15 best wineries to visit in the world. (Those ten we visit are Zuccardi, Riscal, Margaux, Montes, Antinori, Catena Zapata, Craggy Range, Smith Haut Lafitte, Taittinger and Rippon – and many more in the top 50). Just finished our fabulous trip to Northern Italy with a great group! Wonderful winery visits, a stay in an amazing castle hotel, plus the famous White Truffle festival and a truffle hunt in Piedmont; Venice and glass blowing factory visit on Murano, ending with a lovely lunch in the garden of Locanda Cipriani on the island of Torcello. Sad to say goodbye to our group but looking forward to next spring when our trips start up again!

Wow, it was fantastic and so liberating to get together for our 1st First Friday gathering after more than a year! Thank you to the Kennys for sharing their lovely back yard! Everyone but 2 people had been vaccinated or had covid antibodies and it was a beautiful evening outdoors. Can't wait til next month!
