The river lost a true staple of steelhead season. Ray you will be missed so much. The boat launch won’t be the same without you asking where my periscope is, or telling me my next boat should be yellow ( while singing yellow submarine). Ray loved to give everyone a hard time and loved it even more when you could dish it back. Ray was the nicest guy in the world and would give you the shirt off his back, even though it would probably be to small…. The last day we fished together was his anniversary of being clean and sober ( I think 25 years). I wish I would have known it was our last time to fish, but even if I did I wouldn’t change a thing. Ray you were always fun, I will miss your precision casting ( don’t ever argue distance with him) and most of all I will miss the banter and your general love of fishing. Rest easy my friend we will see you on the other side.

Took a break from the river while we wait for the storm to do it’s work. Fished pyramid lake and landed my personal best 20lb cutthroat on a fly! My LRS F8904 preformed flawless on these fish. The back bone to land a monster and the balance to allow my shoulder to cast all day long with little fatigue!

I hope Santa brought you that new fishing rod, your stocking is stuffed with soft beads and spools of line, or a new gore text coat to finally stay dry on the Smith this year!! It’s steelhead season 😎
