The Magnificent ‘Rajpath’ of New Delhi.
The overflowing water from a century old fountain that resembled a huge ready-to-bloom lotus-bud sitting on a pond, splashed in the simmering winds that was singing the song of Independent India. Behind it, stood the majestic “Rashstrapathi Bhavan,” or the Presidential Palace illuminated to enchant any visitor as the setting sun painted a dull pink colour on the cheeks of the sky.
The vast “Rajpath,” the free flowing wide road descending from the Raisina hills surrounded by the breathtakingly beautiful lush green manicured lawns and other fine imposing Victorian buildings stood as a mute spectator with the freshly bloomed flowers on their side too seemed to be in a festive mood. India was celebrating her 70th Independence Day from the British colonial yoke in her capital, New Delhi.
As I stood amongst the thousands of visitors, I could hear clearly the heart-beat of India and see her legacy….the beauty she is, the compassionate mother she has been, the intellectual giant she is, the spiritual wisdom she has been gifting to anyone who wanted to know her even when she had been pounded by the foreign aggression since antiquity.
What makes India a unique destination to any visitor is something that cannot be explained in words, it can only be experienced!

THE ROOFTOP OF THE WORLD.
It was an unexpected sight. The road had many twists and turns, highs and lows and precariously dangerous cliffs inviting to embrace that treacherous lurking death that always walked with man throughout his life! The canopied pine trees refused sunlight below and the lingering rain seemed looking at the pregnant sky that was ready to shed a ‘sky full’ of tears above!
I was standing on the ‘roof top’ of the world surrounded by the mighty lustrous and mystic Himalayas standing in all humility of an enlightened saint, almost 13,000 ft above sea-level in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand in north India. Behind me stood the “Triyugi Narayan” Temple where according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva married princess Parvati, the daughter of Himavan (personification of Himalayas) as Narayana-Lord Vishnu-played her brother and Lord Brahma, as a priest for the ceremony, during “Satya Yuga,” which was followed by Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga and now Kali Yuga which alone is said to be longer than 4,00,000 years!! Well I will talk about it later.
But what caught my attention was the stunning sight of Himalayas standing in penance, in perfect harmony, cuddling the orphan clouds that seem continuously falling in love with it. There was peace, tranquility, amazement and of course discovery and rediscovery. India never disappointed anyone who wanted to explore her! Beside me stood my better half, Sujata and I took out my camera to shoot this tiny video, just for you!
