Thanks to particularly Gary and Bernie for organising a wonderful Overseas Life Member/ Guest event on this magnificent links last week. Many laughs were had over the 2 days of golf and dinners, new friends made and old friends fostered. Roll on in 2025 which will be the best yet. It was also good to see The Valley course shaping up nicely under the guidance course designer Martin Ebert.
BWG venture to this beautiful part of Ireland with their guests. We have flown in a helicopter above The Cliffs of Moher which are truly spectacula(particularly when the weather is favourable) . Nearby there is a boutique family run hotel called Gregans Castle with excellent service and cuisine. Play golf at Lahinch which is also not too far away and have a drink and craic in Frawley’s Bar afterwards.

It’s the longest day. Thinking of our friends 200km inside the Norwegian Artic circle in the land of the midnight sun. They will be able to golf 12 noon and 12pm. Perhaps we should take some guests next year to complete this golfing challenge? Meantime looking forward to this September when we arrive by helicopter with guests to this amazing northern destination- on the agenda is golf, wildlife power boat adventure, horseback riding and maybe the northern lights.

Their Mara restaurant and chefs pride themselves in the freshest of produce - some straight from the garden.

We love these retro 1930’s railway posters This illustration shows the wonderful Bretagne coastline viewed from Dinard GC in Northern France which will feature in one of our adventures soon to be announced- watch this space.
At BWG we are very much looking forward to returning to this special place again this year and seeing old friends. It is great to see the course get the recognition it deserves but there is so much else to see and do from in September seeing the northern lights on horseback to visiting Henningsvaer to browse the artisan studios and glassblowers.
Thanks for the shout out Distillers One of One Auction we are delighted to work with you all and MacLean & Bruce as a travel partner and very much look forward to making a positive contribution to the next auction in October 2025.
Isn’t the simplicity and beauty of branding and bottle wonderful on this Isle of Harris gin. The same gentleman responsible worked on BWG’s brand concept right at the genesis of the company - we think he is an unheralded genius . Isle of Harris gin is a firm BWG favourite with kelp from the island and taste of the sea-it is the perfect antidote to this long Scottish winter. Paired with a slice of grapefruit, tonic and finished off with some ice, it is delicious. Thank you Mr Taylor.

This dramatic photo of Skervuile Lighthouse in the sound of Jura has a story behind it. With visibility terrible on Islay the aircraft chartered to take us to Edinburgh was unable to collect us and our guests. Stranded with light fading we implemented plan B, connecting with a boatman on Jura that could get us back to the mainland. The photo was taken as we escaped. On arrival At Tayvalich our driver was on hand to seamlessly transport us east in time for cocktails on
What makes a trip an adventure??? Something that truly stirs the soul connects you to a place and lingers long in the memory??…..Our guests could have visited the beautiful Causeway coastline solo, seen the sights , got the photo and moved on. Instead they met local storyteller Mark who inspired them with tales of a bygone era, both mystical and real life. Our suggestion is that the answer to the question posed above is-meeting a local expert with a a deep sense of place that are connected to an area with infectious passion for communication. Thank you Mark.

Exceptional detailing and service welcomed our guests at this wonderful residence in the upper south side of Belfast near Queens University. Helicopter from here to golf courses in Antrim, Donegal and County Down.

A heartfelt goodbye from Elysha Senior Director at Departures. BWG has a mixture of emotions being featured in its last issue -pride that we are included but sad that the music has finally stopped for this influential publication……..
For me, highlighted the small and interconnected nature of our world and revealed a constant essence of hometown pride. Connecting with the people who have built places and experiences is just a plane, WhatsApp, or Google Hangout away, to delve into the thoughtful details that define their authentic spaces. They’re so proud of their corner of the globe—eager to ensure you can witness, appreciate, and experience what they hold dear. Here are some of those places.
To the team that worked diligently on a daily basis to transform Departures into an authentic storytelling platform showcasing exceptional places and people.
Delighted to be featured in -Where we want to go in 2024. Departures is a global guide to luxe travel, style and more.
Arnie may have the front cover but BWG feature in 2023 holiday gift guide.

Our CEO Neil was brought up as a junior playing The Valley at Royal Portrush when visiting the Antrim Coast every summer. In many ways the integrity of the wonderful Valley course was compromised in 2017/18 to allow hosting of The Open Championships in 2019 on the Dunluce course. We are delighted that this is now being addressed by RPGC. In this short film General Manager, John Lawler, and course designer Martin Ebert, discuss the ongoing enhancements to The Valley. #changingthegame #bravowhiskygolf #robbreport #adventuregolf #luxuryadventure #breathoffreshair #royalportrushgolfclub #luxurytraveller #visitireland #visitnorthernireland #causewaycoast #luxurytravel
Not sure what it is -but there is something hypnotic and magical about the charring of these whisky barrels. Did you know the difference between charring and toasting?? Charring is where the direct flame intensifies and the wood darkens- the result being more robust tasting whiskies with a depth of flavour. Toasted barrels are fired in a more gentle way for a longer period revealing natural wood nuances, giving subtlety to lighter whiskies. Come and visit a cooperage with BWG as part of your escorted adventure. #bravowhiskygolf #speysidecooprage #maltwhisky #luxurytravel #visitscotland #gordonandmacphail #speysidewhisky
With a passion for British Racing cars we organised 4 exquisite Caterham’s for our US guests to travel through the Highlands. Whilst in Edinburgh on your BWG adventure we can arrange for you to dine in the best restaurants -not always the obvious or Michelin Star but excellent. Why not enjoy dinner at The Ship on the Shore and tuck into their stunning Fruits de Mer. BWG’s founder Neil has been visiting Portrush and playing the famous Dunluce links for over 40yrs( even though the troubles) his aunty’s home is near where this film is taken, behind and to the east of the 5th tee. There is a little bridge over a burn that creates access from the houses at Whiterocks to the tee, this was built by RPGC especially for Neil’s grandfather who in his latter years required to use a buggy to fly around the course with his pals in sub 3 hours. It is amazing to think at the Open 2019 the golfers were routinely driving this hole with ease, playing it almost as a par 3.
Want your business to be the top-listed Travel Agency?
Neil and Paul met at Aberdeen University over 20 years ago, although on different courses and in different years- a connection was made.
The idea behind Bravo Whisky Golf was born (like all good ideas) over an glass of fine wine in Chamonix whilst on vacation with a few friends enjoying one of our other passions- skiing.
