Friends of Coldwater A new organization focused on championing mountain biking and assisting with multi-use trailwork on the north side of Mt St Helens. We worked with the U.S.

Forest Service to gain access to the 211 Trail on the north side of Coldwater Lake in 2012. This is a spectacular trail approximately five miles in length. We have already adopted the 230A at South Coldwater Ridge and completed maintenance work there each year since 2005. Our immediate goals include continued maintenance of the 211, as well as a two-mile trail at the east end of the lake that conn

ects the 211 and the 230A. Ride routes at http://writeteknorthwest.com/archives/13395/ride-options-on-the-north-side-of-st-helens

Thanks to Mike Packer, Paul Klass, Dave LeMonds, Jerry DeRuyter, Lily Wincele, Monte and Ann Price, Jim LeMonds, and Bob Horness for their great work. On August 8, Nathan Frechen, Tina Gruenenfelder, and Jeremy Long cleared from the 230-230A intersection down to the bridge.

The climb from the 230A trailhead to the equipment is overgrown, and the 211 needs attention. If we are up there next year in June,
