[Live trip report]
All the way to Patagonia - Introduction
I am sure that many of you are familiar with the so called "Golden Ticket" mistake fare from Qatar Airways. I originally had my ticket booked for my first multi-day trekking in Nepal. As soon as I see the fare, the picture of pristine Torres del Paine popped up in my head. After I realize, Qatar Airways flights were booked, and the trip to Everest was cancelled, at least for now.
Our first stop will be in the lake town called "Bariloche", located in the upper part of Patagonia region in Argentina side.
Having cancelled our Nepal trip, I and Ben still want to try our first multi-day trekking. We have done day hikes in various places in New Zealand, as well as Mt. Fitz Roy in Argentina, although we think that multi-day treks will give us the new level of trekking experience. Therefore, the legendary "W Trek" in Torres del Paine national park will be a part of our trip.
Originally, we want to do the 8-days Torres del Paine full circuit. However, the back part of the park will not be open until November. Hence, we have to do the 5-days W Trek and opt for the "Laguna de los tres" trail in Mt. Fitz Roy for the remaining period, which we didn't do in our last trip.
We will complete our trip with a stopover in Buenos Aires where we can go to our most favorite steakhouse in the world and have of the best wine tasting session.
If you make it to this far, thank you for reading my trip report and stay tune for the upcoming trip reports of this journey.
