Cay Sable (Haitian Creole: Cay Sab) is an island reef in Haiti, located approximately 50 kilometers west of Port-au-Prince in the Anse-à-Galets commune.

It is renowned for being the most densely populated island in the world, with around 250-300 people living in about 75 houses, occupying an area of 0.16 hectares (0.40 acres). The population density is extraordinarily high at 156,250 people per square kilometer (404,690 people per square mile).

The Caye Sable now features a chain of interconnected shipping packing containers and tin-roofed homes. These structures have stood for many years because the island is not often affected by hurricanes and studies only minor aftershocks from earthquakes. Most of the residents right here are descendants of those who first occupied the island in the early 20th century.

The island is a bustling community of fishermen and different small investors, with nearly every household owning small gas and oar-powered boats to get entry to the mainland for freshwater and other items. Cay Sable is any other exceedingly particular community in Haiti, including vibrant shades of its history and culture!
