The World in Football Shirts The World in Football Shirts (TWiFS) is a museal collection of national team football shirts.

10 years ago we started to collect national team football shirts of all FIFA members, with the aim to bring all 209 FIFA members of that time together. Until today we could collect more than 350 shirts spanning all continents, over 200 countries and even several non-FIFA national teams. We were invited to and successfully did multiple exhibitions all over Europe and were featured and big national

and international media outlets. Now our museum has opened and we will show you a shirt a day here to display the beauty of the polyester behind the beautiful game!

Մենք սիրում ենք Հայաստանին!
(We love Armenia!)

Changing the continent again, we will show you the European country of Armenia, which is borbered by Turkey, Georgia, Iran and Azerbaijan (and Nagorno-Karabakh, depending on your political views) . It is beautifully located in the Southern (Lesser) Caucasus range.

The Havakakan, as the Armenian national team is called, is yet waiting to qualify for their first major international tournament, despite having Champions League top players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Karlen Mkrtchyan in their rows. However, the team was always good for a surprise and the first match picture here, from 2011, just shows a 3-1 victory vs Slovakia in an Euro qualifier match.

We initially purchased the official Armenia shirt, made by Hummel, from the 2012 season. It has a cracking design and a simple, yet great, logo. However, we had to opt for a matchworn shirt and thus contacted a few people in Armenia. Luckily a local sports journalist, if not the best, was happy to send us the amazing shirt of Hovhannes Hambardzumyan, worn in a qualifier match for the 2016 Euros in France. Thanks again to Gevorg from Yerevan for his great help! Truly a highlight of our collection :)

It's time for Africa!
Today we proudly present the first African country on this page: Guinea-Bissau!

The "Djurtus" as the national team is called in Bissau just qualified for the 2017 African Cup of Nations - the first major tournament they will ever participate in! This is surely enough reason for us to celebrate the small Portuguese-speaking country in Western Africa.
So far the national team only competed in the Amilcar Cabral Cup, a Western African regional tournament, where they came second in Mauritania 1983, theiir only medal-placement in the tournament. Furthermore, they competed in the football tournament of the Lusophony Games, an Olympic-like sports event of Portuguese speaking entities, where they lost their group heavily unfortunately.
But now their days are coming! They won their African Cup qualifying group topping the Republic of Congo, which qualified in 2015, and Zambia, the African Champion of 2012!
Surely their strong ties to Portugal helped forming this great team as most players play in the Portugues League, including their stars Cicero from Pacos de Ferreira and Zezinho from Sporting.

We are lucky enough to have 3 Guinea Bissau football shirts in our collection, including one matchworn shirt from a qualifier match in Cameroon in 2012. This special shirt was bought by winning a charity auction in favor of their former coach, who suffered from cancer and needed funds to go to a Portuguese hospital. We thank Futebolistas Guineenses Guiguis for making this possible! We will never forget about this!
Furthermore, two more recent 2014 shirts are proud parts of our collection, both made by the little-known manufacturer Roly. A great design for Djurtus!

Which of the above shirts do you like the most? Can you help us to get another match worn or player shirt of the Djurtus? Leave us a comment or a message!

Today we will introduce the shirts of Haiti, a country of rougly 10 million inhabitants in the Western half of the Hispaniola, the biggest Caribbean Island.

The Haiti national team shocked the world in the 1973/74 season, when they won the 1973 CONCACAF Championship in a round-robin format, finishing atop of Trinidad & Tobago and even Mexico. This continental success also qualified them for their only ever World Cup paritcipation in 1974.
The team lost all their group matches, but became extremely famous when they led the match vs. Italy during, after national hero Emmanual Sanon scored the first ever World Cup goal for the country.

Our first shirt is part of that amazing history! We got the shirt straight from the Haiti team hotel in 1974. The hotel still had a few shirts from the delegation in their basement and sold this last one to me. Haiti used 2 different (!) red shirts in their group stage matches, but not this design. We reckon it is either a traning shirt of the team or the former shirt from the qualification, when the simple football ball was still the official logo of the Haiti FA. However, it is an absolutely amazing collective piece.

The second shirt presented here does not have an equally amazing history, but definitely is one of the most bizarre designs in international football history. The shirt is not only extremely colourful, but also complete made of an look-through material!

This museal collection wouldn't exist without YOU!
Hundreds of national team football players, officials, journalists, managers and ambassadors helped us to come that far. Each of them is a hero to us as he helped bringing the world together in polyester!

Now we need your help! Do you collect and have national team shirts you don't need anymore? Are you a national team player and would you like to make this museum an even bigger success story?
If you have ANY national team shirt, preferably one worn in an international match, contact us any time.
Thank you so much for making it happen!

We start our tour through the world by showing you this beautiful 2008/2009 Afghanische Fußballnationalmannschaft shirt of the Danish manufacturer hummel.
The reason is simple: Afghanistan is celebrating it's Independence Day today! Congratulations to all Afghan people in the world!

The shirt was worn by the Afghanistan women's national team in 2008/2009 and was part of the Karma project of Hummel, which means that buying the depicted shirt helped to fund a new bus for the Afghanistan women's national team.
