Congrats. Not sure if you all truly understand what this guy has done for dirt bikes he has single-handedly made dirt bikes a family thing and brought it in to all the household’s around the world especially that night when he did the double backflip and it literally was on every TV set around the world. This is a rider that went against Everything the racing industry stood for on his way to being a possible multitime time champion in motocross n Supercross walked away from the sport at a young age to go down his own path and help build freestyle, motocross and action sports and his own tour nitro circus employing hundreds. of athletes.
Really Travis should have his own category. No one has done anything close to what he has accomplished in the last 25-30 years. Imagine if one of the youngest most promising factory riders wins the championship and decides to say “you know what I’m gonna walk away from the sport because I want to try something else” and goes and succeeds at it. Actions like this get shunned by the Racing industry but sometimes you have to go against the grain and take some risk going with your gut if you want the big payoff! What legends are made of ! Congrats buddy glad I was there to witness it and play a small part in the journey.

As a racer and stuntman, Travis Pastrana has always delivered.

After starting out in motocross, Pastrana became a stunt rider and lead personality behind the Nitro Circus brand, which spans reality TV, movies and live performances. Now, Pastrana is set to become an AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer.

In motocross, Pastrana became the then-youngest rider (16 years, 10 months, 26 days) to capture an AMA Pro MX title after winning the 1999 AMA 125cc National MX Championship. He also added the ’01 125cc East SX championship to his resume.

Pastrana then set his eyes on X Games success, where he produced 17 medals, including 11 golds.

Pastrana also founded and fostered the Nitro Circus brand, which has grown into one of the largest entertainment entities in motor sports. He is also a successful stunt rider, a pursuit sparked by his childhood hero Evel Knievel.

Pastrana was recognized as the Best Male Action Sports Athlete at the 2007 ESPY Awards, and was the 2018 AMA Motorcyclist of the Year.
