Irish foodies are salivating at the news that one of America’s hottest fried chicken joints is coming to Ireland.
The social media sensation Raising Canes known for its chicken fingers, sandwiches, Fries, Texas toast and world-famous Cane’s sauce has made a statement on its new Dublin TikTok page with the caption:

“Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers coming to Dublin Ireland.”

“Coming December.”

Also sharing a second video with the caption “See you soon, Dublin”. This is huge for the Irish fast food industry as raising canes would truly raise the bar and put everyone else on notice.

Known for its extravagant disco balls in their locations; their Times Square shop even has a live DJ that plays regularly while customers dine on some of the freshest chicken available.

with over 800 locations worldwide Raising Canes is looking to expand in 2024/2025 and Irish foodies should take note as they’re in for an experience like no other.

recently launched an unlimited flight subscription service for €499 per year, allowing unlimited flights with a €9 booking fee per flight, bookable only three days before departure.

The announcement drew immediate criticism from Michael O’Leary, who called it “a bit of a marketing scam” and doubted seat availability.

In response, Wizz Air’s Yvonne Moynihan dismissed O’Leary’s comments as “provocative and inaccurate,” highlighting the overwhelmingly positive reaction and clarifying that there are no blackout periods or restricted destinations.

Moynihan confirmed the booking fee and noted their flights’ typical load factor of 90%-95%. She also mentioned that the subscription service is sold out but didn’t release specific figures.

Moynihan added that Wizz Air considers Dublin Airport unattractive due to the current passenger cap. Meaning that despite the deal allegedly being legitimate there would be extra travel factors for Irish holiday goers.

It remains to be seen if the sold out Wizz Air deal will return but keep your eyes peeled for a nearly unheard of opportunity.

I was trying to think of a snappy title, an eye-catcher – something that would lock the reader in. However, I came to a simple realisation: absolutely needs no introduction.

Serving food to the masses of Douglas, Co. Cork since 1958, KC’s are innovators in the Irish food game. Allegedly, they were among the first to bring hamburgers to Cork, the inventors of the meat patty, and they have absolutely perfected fresh pitta sandwiches.

Although small in size, KC’s packs quite the punch. So much so that a line forms before it even opens, and despite the very speedy service, it takes a while to approach their doors.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is their wall of awards. It’s like nowhere else l’ve seen. It’s like looking at Ronaldo’s trophy cabinet-if Ronaldo were a sixty-year-old takeaway. Their decor is also very appealing, featuring overhanging lights and a giant, lit-up menu and a mural on the side wall.

Unfortunately, Paul and I found ourselves in a tough position due to opportunity cost-we couldn’t order everything. So we went with the most recommended items: the King Creole (Chicken Breast Fillet pieces roasted in blackened Cajun spices, served in a hot pitta with mayonnaise, iceberg lettuce, and a few chips inside), the Angry Spaniard (a hot pitta filled with chorizo, chicken, hot sauce, mayo, chips, and lettuce), and their curry cheese chips.

Without a doubt, the food was as fresh as possible. The pitta was homemade, and the meat quality was off the charts.

To even claim this is merely a chipper may be unfair as they are much more than that.

If you are living anywhere in the world, come down and experience what KC’s has to offer. If you don’t believe me, watch the video on our food review page

Bray Co.Wicklow Ireland was ranked by English News site Time Out as one of its must see destinations of 2024 around the world. No surprise at all as Bray in recent years has become a staple for so many wonderful bars such as , restaurants like (or the McDonalds that looks like a literal church), and not to mention the breathtaking sea views.

Speaking to Eugene Finnegan from Bray tourism who noted that

“Being acknowledged again by Time Out is a testament to Bray’s enduring appeal. The support from the Bray Municipal District and Wicklow County Council has been instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the town’s amenities and public realm.”

Bray first appeared on the list in 2023, receiving praise for its diverse range of activities and dining options. This year, the town secured the 24th spot.

Time Out’s article recounts how Bray’s popularity soared with the arrival of the railway in 1854, earning it the nickname “the Brighton of Ireland.”

With so many iconic countries to visit in Europe, many tourists extend their travelling across multiple destinations to experience as much as possible in one trip.

However, the cost of travelling can add up very quickly when factoring in flights, accommodation, transport, meals, and visiting local attractions. This can increase even further with unexpected bills from medical emergencies or accidents.

That is why finance experts from Finansplassen have shared their top tips for cutting costs when travelling in Europe, without limiting the experience. In fact, some of these tips will help make the trip feel more authentic than choosing the more expensive options.

Do some research beforehand

Once you know your intended destination, it is always worth heading online to plan your journey and explore what options are available to you. This can help alleviate a lot of the usual costs by finding cheaper deals for your transport and accommodation.

Flights can be one of the biggest travel expenses, which is why you should be comparing multiple airlines and travel sites to get the best prices. There may also be flights departing a day later or earlier than your first choice of date at lower costs.

Another potential money saver is looking into all-inclusive city passes intended for tourists at your destination. Many of them include free attractions and limited use of the public transit system or can provide discounts for selected activities and/or restaurants.

Travel offseason

Whilst it may seem appealing to visit Europe in the summer season, this is when the prices will be the most expensive due to the high demand from tourists. Some cities receive similar levels of footfall in the early winter, so spring and autumn are recommended as the seasons for planning your trips.

Travelling in the summer will also have an impact on your accommodation options and visiting attractions, since they are more likely to be booked up or packed with crowds. Try to choose times that will avoid the summer holidays and busy tourist seasons.

Irelands first pizza vending machine has opened its second location, and the first one in Dublin.

In 1885, the first automobile was invented. In 1969, man was first sent to the moon, and now, Ireland’s first artisan pizza vending machine has come to Dublin.

has opened its doors (or flaps) outside the Texaco service station in Newcastle on Dublin’s south side. The aim for this new venture is to serve those in areas where takeaways aren’t readily available- areas for late night eaters, college campuses, office/apartment blocks, and much more.

The journey for top-notch pizza technology was started by brothers Franck and Mark, who were inspired after seeing this concept on their trip to France. The brothers both saw a gap to get a slice of the Irish pizza market (pun intended).

Speaking on the matter, the brothers noted that the pizzas are made from high-quality ingredients and then brought to the vending machine, which has a fridge compartment. When somebody buys a particular pizza, the fridge opens and the correct pie slides into the oven area at the specific temperature for said pizza.

The first of its kind in Dublin, the C&C prediction is that this will not be a one-off, folks. In the future, there will be a hot food vending machine for all types of cuisines (and maybe we’ll look at flying cars if there’s time).

Pizza in Ireland is hitting higher and higher heights by the week. Long are the days of only finding a Domino’s, a Four Star, or maybe a soggy slice at your local deli counter.

The newest craze to hit the Irish shores is the Detroit-style pizza at Doom Slice, located at 14 Dame Lane, D02 XC91 (open from 5PM Mon-Fri and from 1pm on Weekends). The Detroit slice is a rectangular cut piece with airy and chewy breading and a cheesy, crisp crust layered with sauce and cheese.

To answer the question on everybody’s mind: yes, it is the real deal. Started by New York native Tom Sicotakis, a pizza lover who was inspired after a trip to the Motor City to bring their famous slice to Dublin alongside Ben Cleary and Angela Stempel, they’re here to change up the game for the Irish pizza market.

It’s not very often that you experience the hairs standing on your neck, the goosebumps coursing through your body, and the biggest level of euphoria possible (without stimulants of course). I felt all of this on Thursday, 19th, when one of my favourite DJs and producers, Armand Van Helden, graced the stage of St James’ Gate in Dublin at approx. 9 pm.

The Gravity Bar is a shining light amongst a dark sea of venues in today’s modern Dublin. Since the closure of Hanger, District 8, Bernard Shaw (original), and many more bars and nightclubs, the Gravity Bar pop-up gigs are what Dublin has been crying out for… cough, not more hotels…cough.

The American comedy hard-rock band Tenacious D has cancelled their world tour after their Guitarist made remarks about the Donald Trump attempted assassination.

Kyle Gass was celebrating his birthday on stage in Sydney on Sunday when one of the other members brought out a cake and asked Gass to make a wish, to which Mr Gass replied “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

The clip of the incident circulated online with many individuals being upset with the rockers choice of words.

In a statement on Instagram, Black said: “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday.

“I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.

“After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

It remains to be seen if there will be an indefinite hiatus or there may be a chance of reconciliation, however one things for certain many fans will be upset over missing the tour and the potential future of the band.

Dublin has made it to the top 50 list of the most expensive cities for expats globally. It has climbed up 10 spots this year, now ranking at 41st in Mercer’s 2024 cost-of-living city list, surpassing cities like Milan, Rome, and Madrid.

Factors such as the overall cost of living and rental prices contributed to Dublin’s rise in the rankings, according to the experts. Despite this advancement, living expenses in Dublin have remained relatively stable over the past year, with modest increases in expatriate rental costs and goods/services aligning with those of other Western European cities.
