Good Friday dinner at the epic Four Seasons Restaurant in Mies Van der Rohe's Seagram Building on Park Avenue at 52nd, certainly a pilgrimage site for lovers of mid-century modern. Opened in the very wonderful year 1959, the Four Seasons was the power restaurant of the Mad Men era and reigned for decades as one of New York's preeminent culinary experiences. It was farm-to-table before it was cool, and the level of service and attention to detail remains second to none. The Four Seasons will survive at another location, but is moving from its iconic and historic space this summer so its time capsule existence will cease to be forever.
