Driving through the Newstead area, I couldn't help but remember the weathered beauty of an old church along the way. Months ago, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owners, who generously invited me to explore its interior. It struck me as peculiar that the church was part of the property when they purchased the house behind it. Despite the church's dilapidated state, a testament to its abandonment after the congregation moved to a new location across the street, the owners, who also manage a bustling farm and trucking business, have faced its challenges with resilience. Years ago, vandals shattered its windows, turning the church into a solemn relic. Determined to protect their property, the owners sealed its doors with an array of bolts, hoping to deter further intrusion. Yet, amidst their busy schedule, they graciously removed the bolts with an impact wrench and welcomed me inside. Their warmth and hospitality touched me deeply. I'm immensely grateful for their kindness and the opportunity to glimpse into the history held within those weathered walls. 🙏🏻

🖌️Note: please be kind to the owners, as they bought the property when it was in a declining state of disrepair. They are kind people and do not deserve any negative commentary!
