Green travel burnout can lead to you wishing you didn't care so much about the environment. Check out my piece for Wanderful here about how you too can avoid feeling run down by being sustainable during your travels:

If you're someone who lives and travels green, doing so consistently can lead to burn out. Here's how to avoid feeling stressed about eco travel on the road.

Travelling alone can be one of the most freeing things you will ever do. You are 100% in charge of you and your destiny. You become self sufficient, able to make decisions and organise, able to make a plan and change it on a whim because you don’t need to consult anyone else. The possibilities become endless when there is no one else to rely on. Friends are made, new travel partners found and lost and changed. As a solo female traveller I have had some of the best times travelling alone amongst times when I have met other travellers and gone along with them. Sometimes it has lead to solid friendships that carry on to this day. Other times it has been a little bit disastrous. One thing that I think many solo travellers struggle with at one time or another on the road is how to tell if you are feeling lonely or alone?

In my monthly column for Wanderful travel magazine I discuss how to choose an eco travel company to ensure ethical consumerism. After all sometimes you need to take a tour and you want to make sure that the company you choose is not polluting the place you are paying to travel to.

Ecotourism is gaining popularity, which means there are lots of tour groups to choose from. Follow these tips to ensure you spend your money on a group doing good.

We live in a world of consumerism.Everyone always wants the latest and greatest everything. And once it is not longer the latest and greatest thing we simply dispose of it. Well not really. It ends up in landfill, clogging up our water ways and damaging our earth. Years ago I was a consumer. I purchased things all the time. Loved passing the time by going shopping. For things that I didn’t really need. Because it was what you did.

Find out how I stopped being such a consumer and learnt to embrace living minimally:

We live in a world of consumerism. Everyone always wants the latest and greatest everything. And once it is not longer the latest and greatest thing we simply dispose of it. Well not really. It end...

was one of the most beautiful countries I have ever been in the world. Full of snow, birch trees and old wooden houses there was such a magic to the place that you can see why myths and faeries have come from this country. See why I loved Finland so much on the blog:

People tell me all the time that they wish they had my life or that they are jealous of what I do. My answer is always simple: you can do this too and choose to live the life you want to live. Although just know that it is not a glamorous life being a nomad.

As a traveling gal, I am not ashamed to admit that I have found Tinder to be a handy tool both abroad and when I come home. Discussing my experiences and why I use the app for Wanderful this month:

Tinder is all the rage right now. Whether it's being used to meet new people or for a little more, could it be the traveling girl's new best friend?

Check out these haunting photos from fellow eco warrior Alison's Adventures time in the . Rubbish pollution is such a big issue and the travel industry and tourists generate a lot and cause harm some of the most beautiful places in the world. A stark reminder to take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints.

Award-winning filmmaker Alison Teal, 27, from Hawaii, visited Thilafushi – or Trash Island - an artificial island created as a municipal landfill situated to the west of Malé.
