Can we talk about hidden gems for a minute?

🏖️ That little tucked-away beach bar that’s only talked about by the locals.

🍴That lesser-known restaurant with a great sunset view and the best cocktails.

💁‍♂️That really great tour guide that’s a go-to by travel industry pros.

Hidden gems can take a good trip and make it truly memorable!

I also love hidden gems because:

1️⃣ They give me the opportunity to have unique and authentic experiences in the destinations I visit.

2️⃣ They often support local businesses and the local economy

3️⃣ They give me the opportunity to engage with locals and learn from them.

4️⃣ They are the gateway to memorable experiences that you can’t always plan for.

Right now, I’m working on an itinerary for clients to Ireland and naturally, it will include a few hidden gems I’ve personally discovered and learned from my partners in the destination.

Google is a great resource to start researching that getaway, but…

It’s not the be-all and end-all...

I spend hours and hours per day planning and coordinating trips for clients.

What I know goes beyond what you’ll find in a Google search.

That’s because I’m taking in new information about the destinations I specialize in every single day as I plan.

I’m having conversations with colleagues and connecting with my partners in the destinations.

Google doesn’t always know when a resort is under construction or if the rooms are a little bit dated.

That’s not to say you can’t rely on it.

But if you’d much rather:

✅ Have a second pair of eyes on your travel plans

✅ Want more dynamic travel suggestions and recommendations

✅ Want someone else to do the legwork so you can focus on other things

This is precisely why I educate my clients to fly in the day PRIOR to their cruise and stay a night in a hotel. It’s not worth a flight delay to miss your cruise.

And ALWAYS get the travel insurance.

Whew! It’s been a bit since I talked travel agent bookings, but I’m still in the thick of them! I am working with friends and clients to get them the trip they are looking for and will search and research new destinations that I am not familiar with.

***Did you know:

✈️Most trips can be booked with just a deposit and payments over time?
✈️I do price comparisons against the competitors and often times can price match if they are lower than my suppliers! We often can find extra deals that you wouldn’t see as a consumer- Including extra on board credits on a cruise!
✈️ Personalized service is FREE. I get paid by the vendor (hotel, cruise, car rental company) and not you!
✈️ I am certified and focus on Disney, cruises, Hotel Chains, New Orleans, and more-but can book anything from car rentals to vacation villas, train tickets and beyond!

Just a few examples of things an online booking engine won't do for you 🙂

With the summer here, and my store being shorter hours, I have extra time to mentor some new travel agents!

Currently with almost 70 agents in my down line comprised of an amazing group of agents and Mentors, I am more excited than ever to show others how they can earn commission on not only their own travel, but by booking friends, family and beyond!

You can do this Part Time or Full Time! It’s completely on your schedule. We have the most amazing support system, training and it’s the only “job” I haven’t wanted to quit because- well, who doesn’t love to travel??

Fun Fact: There are airports that have FREE tours if you have a layover. That’s right! Have a long layover in one of these airports? You could do free tours and see some sites!

There also also many airports that have paid ones. Some airports listed below. Details in the article about how to book, which are free and which cost money.

✈️Singapore Airport
How long you need: At least 5.5 hours, and your layover should be less than 24 hours.

✈️Seoul Airport
How long you need: Tours are between one and five hours, and your layover should be less than 24 hours. However, if you ever get the chance, then do stay in Seoul for a bit longer.

✈️Tokyo Airport
How long you need: At least five hours as tours are usually around three hours long. There’s no upper limit on how long you’re staying, as some hotel guests can also enjoy these trips on arrival.

✈️Taipei Airport
How long you need: Each tour lasts around four hours, but only passengers with a layover between seven and 24 hours are entitled to join in.


✈️Abu Dhabi Airport
How long you need: At least six hours to take the two to three-hour city tour (one hour after landing and two hours before departure), or an overnight stay at a complimentary hotel courtesy of Etihad depending on your chosen flight booking.

✈️ Doha Airport
How long you need: At least six hours to be eligible. Qatar Airways suggests booking a tour that drops you off at the airport at least two hours before departure.

✈️ Istanbul Airport
How long you need: Passengers should have a layover of between six and 24 hours to be eligible.

✈️ Salt Lake City Airport
How long you need: A couple of hours should suffice, but get back to the airport at least 90 minutes before departure.
