Smooke Walks DavidWalks.com Why Walk with Friends

Friends challenge me. They understand where I am going - to a degree. Easy hellos. Why Record? The lost conversation.

A good friend sees where the next crossroad is, and probably knows if I will go left, right, or straight ahead. But no matter how good a friend is, your walk will be your walk. The route, the conversation, the ideas, the traffic, the car horns - its all building something on our own ways to where we respectively are going. New Friends

More business and life meetings should happen when walking. Wh

o I am looking to walk with: tech people, San Franciscans, artists, entrepreneurs, creators, people that walk where I walk. Too often, conversations are lost. Our minds absorb everything - I mean bits of everything - and retain a translated bit of everything. That ‘translation’ is interpretation of memory and articulation. And it’s beautiful. But it’s not what happened. What happened is raw, pure and uncut. From the incomplete sentence to the mispronunciations eureka moment - it’s the real-time-ness that can not be replicated tomorrow. But I am going to come close. Shoot the S**t

First I need inspiration… Friends and motor skills. It’s the sounding board, the next idea, and the exercising of my motor skill. When walking we see the opportunities for what could be around the next corner.

Schaeffer: There's an option to pet this at the place we're staying at Zanzibar. Part of me is like, "That sounds really fu***ng cool." The other part is, "What if this guy is in a bad mood that day?" Decides to snap at me.

David: Yeah.

Schaeffer: Then I lose my fingers.

David: Well, that's a good story.

"How it is fickle, leaving one alone to wander

the halls of the skull with the fluorescents
softly flickering. It rests on the head

like a bird nest, woven of twigs and tinsel
and awkward as soon as one stops to look.
That pile of fallen leaves drifting from

the brain to the fingertip burned on the stove,

to the grooves in that man’s voice
as he coos to his dog, blowing into the leaves

of books with moonlit opossums
and Chevrolets easing down the roads
of one’s bones. And now it plucks a single

tulip from the pixelated blizzard: yet

itself is a swarm, a pulse with no
indigenous form, the brain’s lunar halo.

Our compacted galaxy, its constellations
trembling like flies caught in a spider web,
until we die, and then the flies

buzz away—while another accidental

coherence counts to three to pass the time
or notes the berries on the bittersweet vine

strewn in the spruces, red pebbles dropped
in the brain’s gray pool. How it folds itself
like a map to fit in a pocket, how it unfolds

a fraying map from the pocket of the day."

"Hey, we’re in an education revolution. Do it yourself.

We’re paying student loans, ageism, and most of all, the supplier’s at odds with your access to information. What information? Tuition’s bubble. Google’s subtle. And inertia’s muscle. Who knows how to see it? Solve it? Be a part of it?

To the ones who see the internet as their library and content as their teacher, what’s up? You can learn, anything. Find it. Like it. Share it. Make it. Hyperlinked leaves our grandparents restless. Forget late night Letterman and ask ten new questions. Celebrities read their mean tweets and who can forget it? I walk through the city with individualized news, time stamped and A/B tested.

Internet, show me the way because institutions are trying to tell me how. Someone peel that banana upside down. Why not? They’re nature’s handles, don’t believe me, check the Life hacker method…"
